During the end of Ebo's official visit he was riding back to the airport on his way home. The coach took his son on the trip with them, and they are both getting to know Ebo and just a bunch of small talk. They all got to talking about Clemson and what all is going on with the program, and basically singing the praises of the university in general. Eventually D-Rod came up in conversation and they talked about his bronze star with valor, the purple heart, and the story of playing to fulfill a promise to his best friend who died in battle, etc. A few minutes pass and Ebo stops them in mid sentence, "hold on, hold on, what's wrong with his heart? It's purple, oh man, what's wrong? Is he gonna be alright?". They had to spend about 10 minutes explaining that a purple heart was a military award and not a medical condition.
Just thought this was pretty funny that he had no idea what a purple heart was, and didn't want to embarrass him while he was still a part of the program.
