Hubbard said while she's disappointed she won’t be able to live out her Olympic dreams this year, that’s just the way it goes. “Sometimes your testicles get in the way,” Hubbard said. “That’s just something we gals have to deal with.”

“Sure, there are some biological differences like bone density and muscle strength between the sexes,” Hubbard said. “But none of those gives me an unfair advantage in weightlifting, which is really more about finesse and technique!”

What......the.......

What a world!
soooooo there was a Pride event held in Seattle. This was a formal event, which had a permit from the City. The event was titled "‘Take B(l)ack Pride’ " and was promoted as a "... EVERYONE is free to attend HOWEVER this is a BLACK & BROWN QUEER TRANS CENTERED PRIORITIZED, VALUED, EVENT."

How ever attendees who were "white" were charged "$10 to $50 reparations fee " in order to "... keep this event free of cost for BLACK & BROWN Trans & Queer COMMUNITY,"

Now ... personally .... @PAWrocka doesnt give a shit about 99.999999998% of this, however, the City of Seattle response to complaints about this blatantly discriminatory practice is quite worrisome. Their response was

"Black trans and queer peoples are among the most marginalized and persecuted peoples within the LGBTQIA2S+ community. They often face shame not only from the cis-heteronormative community, but within the queer community at large as well.' "In making the event free for the Black Queer community, the organizers of this event are extending a courtesy so rarely extended; by providing a free and safe space to express joy, share story, and be in community."

"We would like to recommend, if possible, that you educate yourself on the harm it may cause Seattle’s BIPOC community in your pursuit of a free ticket to an event that is not expressly meant for you and your entertainment"

WOW ... this being a "Pride" event is irrelevant and YA this is the left coast which has always been a little nutty, but ..... these are elected Government officials willfully and boldly violating the the civil rights of US citizens and allowing racial discrimination under a Government issued permit.

Y'all realize this is a Babylon Bee article, right? A satirical article.
I mean Laurel Hubbard is a real person. By that I mean a real man competing in a women's sport. But the basis of the article itself (yes including quotes) is a joke.

Doesn't make our world any less crazy, or the fact that a man is competing in a women's event any less wrong. But those aren't real quotes 🤣

They don't.

And it's wonderful to watch.

The same could be said about you based on your response to this particular article. Smarten up.

They don't.

And it's wonderful to watch.
I do though…

It’s satire…& it’s funny…

What isn’t funny though is a biological man (ya know, follow the BASIC science) competing against biological women in a female-only athletic competition…weightlifting nonetheless…
Despite what you & your liberal comrades try to promote, men & women are not the same…& this transgender crap is not normal…
And no, I don’t care who’s feelings I hurt in the LGBTQIBFRAVCPL28&cx#^^^kmPPW+ community…

They don't.

Oh wow. I knew the article was satire, but I had no clue a former male is actually competing in Olympics weightlifting as a female. That's crazy!

It would actually be kinda sad if she doesn't win gold. That's a massive advantage.

Yes I know but my point still stands. It’s satire because it’s based off things that are happening in real life.

The fact that some ITT aren’t getting THAT is hilarious to watch.
Life comes at you fast in 2021 .... I mean ... the article is satire ....but .... it totally could not be. That is how flippin bananas people, specifically the Left, have gotten.

I started following and caring about Politics and social issues 26 years ago. I eagerly waited for my first opportunity to vote and have voted in every election and primary since.....

If you had told me 26 years ago that a sitting congressperson would compare the United States to the Taliban and Hamas and that 50? 75%? of her Democratic colleagues wouldve agreed with her....I NEVER wouldve believed you.... but here we are ....

Not sure it being a gay pride event is really irrelevant. This stuff goes hand in hand. A city that wants to hold official events championing certain kinds of sexuality (and using the type of language they used in their response) is a city that's also likely to be open to the progressive version of championing certain races.

The injury is satire and Babylon Bee is full of great satire.

Laurel Hubbard however is transgender and will be on the New Zealand Olympic team competing against natural born women. The testosterone bar for a transgender woman to compete in women's competition is set at 10X the level of natural born women.

1. Should natural born women be allowed to take testosterone to boost their level by 10X if they desire to do so?
2. Should the Olympics simply drop male/female separation and have all teams compete together since apparently there are no physiological differences or competitive advantages that come with (initially) being male?

I harbor no animosity against anyone's sexual preference involving consenting adults. I do however believe that it is foolish and dishonest to ignore the physiological differences between males and females. There is no point in separating the genders in sports if we are going to do that. Yes, it may be disheartening for those who believe they were born the wrong sex, have made a switch, and are not able to compete with the gender that they now identify with. But unless their physiology changes completely with their new identity to erase any physiological advantages, they still carry an unfair advantage into women's competition. Simple as that.

Where is the flaw in this logic?

In order to compete, Hubbard (a white male) will be stealing the spot from a woman of color.

How is the woman he displaced competing for the US there? Dual citizenship?

The issue here is pretty simple: Laurel Hubbard is a male, and should not be competing against females in sports. Even from the most charitable point of view, the reason Hubbard is being treated as a woman is that it's supposed to be therapeutic for him. Competing in sports, and the sex separation of sports, isn't therapeutic. His therapy shouldn't extend to unfair competitive advantages in sports, and just generally to major sporting events. If we wanted to go further down the gender ideology rabbit hole, we could grant that Hubbard is a "woman," if "woman" just means a social construction based on our conventions. But that still doesn't make "her" female for the purposes of things that aren't simply based on conventions, like medicine, or things that are based on biological functions.

The issue here is that people who identify as "trans" simply are not the sex they desire to be. That goes beyond "consenting adults" to compelling other adults' consent to your own perception.

Then don't go

Caitlyn Jenner did it the old fashion way. She competed as a man, then became a woman.

where I do agree that several within this thread dont realize that this is a satirical article ....

Its still possible to view a man competing in a womans sport as complete bullshit.
Naa......................Iceheart is in favor of it. He promotes pretty much any perversion you can name. Quite a guy(?).
