Happy 65th birthday to former Clemson receiver Perry Tuttle. Tuttle is pictured below celebrating after the the Clemson Tigers defeated Nebraska 22-15 in the 1982 Orange Bowl. Tuttle caught a 13 yard touchdown pass from Homer Jordan. He appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated. The victory gave Clemson its first national championship.

A native of Lexington, NC, Tuttle starred as a receiver for Clemson from 1978 to 1981. He was one of several key players of the Tigers' Cinderella championship season as a senior. Clemson began the 1981 season unranked. The Tigers would finish as the only undefeated team. Tuttle finished his college career with 150 catches for 2,534 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was selected in the first round of the 1982 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. Tuttle played 3 NFL seasons with the Bills (1982-1983), Falcons (1984) and Buccaneers (1984). After a disappointing NFL career, Tuttle found greater success in the CFL. He played 6 seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1986 to 1991--winning 2 Grey Cup titles in 1988 and 1990.
