"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit"
There is a comma after that verse, but for those that understand and know what I'm about to say, there is no comma needed. The Bible is often misinterpreted by taking verses out of context, not comparing scripture with scripture and not understanding the audience and times in which those was receiving it (by the way it is still relevant today, if you study it right). I'm not in the arguing the bible business or trying to beat you over the head with what is going to happen, my only hope and prayer is, that you're prepared for it!
I get to preach a sunrise service this morning and as I study for it and finish my thoughts on it this morning. Someday everyone that has preceded us in death is going to be made alive again through the ever living Spirit of God! They will feel, see, hear and have senses! But this time it will be too late for some! I'm getting to preach in a grave yard this sunrise service this morning and I'll get to preach to those that remain! My message will be on the coming of Christ and how these graves will open up someday, giving their dead up and funeral homes will be out of business! What happens then? RIP will be a reality to some and not something we just said because it made us feel better about their destination.
You see your choice for the next life isn't determined after the fact, a preacher can't pray you into it. It's going to be choice you make today, while you're alive! Religion doesn't do it, baptism doesn't do it, stopping this or starting to do this doesn't do it! We bring nothing to salvation except a good for nothing hell bent soul!
The best you could ever do is like a filthy rag compared to the righteousness of God! They say there is nothing whiter than snow. I remember my momma catching snow on a towel, (why not a bowl? Lol). But she laid this white towel out and the snow sticking to it made it look stained. That stuck with me over the years, before I was saved at 21 years old. Someday we are either going to be as white as that snow, in Christ or we will stand before God with our slight stains. Those slight stains will be very dark to God, for the simple fact that He gave us a chance to have them washed white as the snow.
So as you go to church this morning! I ask that you know who you are in Christ! And if you're just doing one of your two times a year church thing to get someone off your back or to feel better about yourself, remember He is alive for a reason and He's coming back, not to save this time!! I would love to be preaching at this grave site this morning and He return, what a way to go, but at the same time, I need loved ones saved! Today is the day of salvation, get someone on the phone and invite them to church! God bless my fellow brethren and Tiger fans!
