Have we talked about Kirk Herbstreit today on Gameday?

The fact you’re trying to make it seem like the left is saying the right hates blacks is disgusting. That isn’t happening at all.

Dude.....now I'm disgusting? We were having a civil conversation where we shared views.......this is my problem with the world. Why is my opinion wrong and yours right?

Biden and Pelosi for example are career politicians.....why haven't they fixed it in the 40 years of being in office? Why?

Anyway, my apologies to the board for trying to be logical and share my views/opinions which are open to debate, but I won't be called names.

Considering there are about 7x the amount of whites people than black people.... yeah that’s a problem.

I see good points from all sides of this debate and don’t reside in one camp or another, but this same population ratio you cite paints a troubling picture of violent crime rates by race. And I think it’s far more likely that those violent crime ratios play a greater role in the imbalance of police shootings than inherent racism. That’s not politics or whatever, it’s just logic.

Sorry if you interpreted it that way. I’m saying the left isn’t trying to say the right is all a bunch of racists. That thought is disgusting. Maybe some extremists are, I don’t know. That is not what the majority of media is saying though.

Yes. That doesn’t mean the portion of that 13% not committing crime should be treated differently.
Point being there’s way bigger problems in this country than 13 (was 10, not sure how it just bumped to 13) unarmed blacks (half those attacked the cops) that got killed by cops last year. And I’m still not sure why those have to be automatically chalked up as racism. Pretty sure that many probably lost their lives in Chicago last night & gosh dang ain’t this a horrible topic to talk about?? See why it sux we can’t even watch sports without hearing about it, smh

Injustice is horrible.
Racism is sin.
Is there anyone who disagrees with that?

Can we please watch football without assigning motives to one part of the audience or another? Spot. The. Ball.
The balls been spotted. These issues aren’t going away

It's not about the number of whites or blacks, it's the number of police engagements. Truth is more crimes are committed by blacks than by whites. Therefore, more police engagements with blacks. However, more whites are actually killed. I know these facts don't fit the narrative, but they're still the facts.

And it’s MILLIONS of engagements

You don’t have to be killed to be mistreated. It is a horrible topic. It doesn’t bother me they mention it during sports though.

And it’s at this point the stats go out the window. I see how it works. Just know this. The main reason why the crime rate is so high in the black demographic is fatherless homes. BLM wants to do away with nuclear families so their mission statement isn’t to help the black race at all but they actually want to amplify the biggest problem wich actually would contribute to the destruction (so to speak) of the black race. See the left doesn’t really want to help the problem but rather exploit the problem. That’s just what they do. I’ve even heard them use it as a slogan.. something about “never let a crisis go to waste”. You’ll know a tree by it’s fruit. Not trying to argue with you but really trying to give you another perspective.

Bingo. Countless times I've been given warnings for simply being respectful and making things easy on the LEO.

Ignorant and racist people would cry racism, saying that I wouldn't have been given a warning if I was black.

So which is it? Are you respectful? Or ignorant and racist?
Definitely respectful. But my wife says ignorant. Been called a racist on here because I don’t support the nba and their China flag. I’m Confused.

Keep the damn politics out of college football. ALM!
LOL
Imagine you actually believed what he was saying. You might get pretty choked up talking about it.

The problem is, he’s just wrong.
LOL
BLM- Yep!
BLM Movement- Nope!
Racism- Yep!
Widespread racism- Nope!
This issue has been blown way out of proportion by the media and liberals. It is an election year tool just like the election infection. The vast majority (I believe 95+%) of Americans are not racist.
LOL
Maybe someone should show him the fact that more unarmed white people are actually killed by police officers than black. Maybe he would stop fake crying.
I agree. Since unarmed white people get killed by police then there’s no reason for black people to get upset about being killed by police. There’s no racism if police kill everybody
I haven’t been watching the news lately, so I may have missed it, but has anyone been shot by the police who didn’t have some mix of resisting arrest, deadly weapon, take officers weapon, high on drugs/alcohol, etc? Anyone shot just because they’re a black dude in a hoodie? That would be absolutely awful. Apologies if I missed it.
I too think resisting arrest or being under the influence is a good reason for a police to put 7 warning shots in your back or their knee on your neck for nearly 10 minutes. If you don’t want to get lit up by a pistol then don’t give the police any difficulty. As soon as you give them a hard time you are basically begging to get the whole clip emptied into you

You people are the worst. I didn’t say anything like that. But this idea that cops are shooting black people for no reason is absurd.

I assume you are talking about Jacob Blake. From what I can tell, this is a man with a warrant out for felony sexual assault, who was actively violating a restraining order, who then resisted arrest and moved toward a deadly weapon (knife).

How are you likening that to “giving the police a hard time?” The absurdity of the arguments from your side really hurts the credibility of this entire thing.

What does prior criminal history have to do with it? Why is that always brought up when yet another black male is shot by police? Yet Kyle rittenhouse crosses state lines with an unregistered firearm of which he is not legal age to own, openly shoots BLM protestors for sport, walks by police, tells them he killed some people, and is allowed to go home and sleep in his own bed? Then, once he’s arrested the news stories are not talking about how he went out and killed in cold blood, but instead are showing images of him cleaning graffiti.

The inherent societal bias in favor of white people is nauseating. It’s so painfully obvious yet so many people (many of whom are on this board) refuse to acknowledge it.

Also, I’m not defending resisting arrest. That’s never a good idea. But a country that touts “freedom” as a great right for those fortunate enough to live in it should not have its citizens living in fear of law enforcement. That doesn’t add up

Kirks the same guy that was screwing a married police officers wife for years. This while Kirk was married. He’s lucky he wasn’t shot. Bottom line is he’s a phony. Hope Dabo calls him and says come get your kids. They’ll never play here

Prior criminal history matters because it affects the officers mentality. When dealing with a violent criminal (felony sexual assault is a violent crime), the odds of the individual reacting violently are much higher. I imagine officers are more fearful of being injured or killed when interacting with violent criminals, so the trigger is a bit quicker.

I agree that nobody should live in fear of law enforcement. I agree that there is an element of systemic racism in parts of society. I agree we should work together to resolve both issues.

I just don’t understand why we can’t talk plainly about facts that influence some of these issues - like violent crime rates and fatherless homes - and work on solutions for these issues, which are far more likely the root cause of police shootings than racist cops and police funding.

Thoughts?

I don't post on this site, but I have to tell you that if I'm a coach recruiting a player against Clemson, the first thing I do is show this thread to a potential recruit and tell him these are the kind of fans you'll be playing for. What a bunch of disgusting, arrogant, ignorant, racist comments. Herbstreit is not the guy with the problem; its you guys.

If I was a coach, parent or player I wouldn’t give a shit about what anybody on a message board said. It’s a message board. People who take a message board to heart have mental issues. Get over yourself and go back to your antifa message board.

Seemed pretty genuine to me. The guys not an actor who’s trained himself to cry on command.

Everything that I saw lined up perfectly with trying to continue to speak through it.
You just got a like from the dumbest engineer to ever walk this planet @CU91ENGR . I would rethink and delete my post if I were you. Thank God I’m not though, because that’s fvckin’ embarrassing.
