And why was this covered by media? I would appreciate stuff like this more if it wasnt always a big publicity grab.

I have to say that its good they are helping the community, but they are doing it with the condition that they get the press that goes along with it.

NewSpring and PN aren't going to invest time and money into something unless they are going to get recognition for it.

Matthew 6:

"Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2 "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Social media( I know this isn't that) has started this awful trend of self promotion of good deeds. It really bugs me. People do nice things for likes, retweets, comments, and replies instead of just doing something nice for someone out of the goodness of their heart. The incessant need to be glorified and praised for helping another human being out has become appalling.

Which is what made that ice bucket challenge so pathetic.
