How are those “Thoughts and Prayers” working out?

We need stricter enforcement of background checks, licensing/registrations and psych evaluations AT A MINIMUM.

No agenda or political comments on social media will bring back those 5 lives.

Because your post title was insensitive and provocative, you should expect some pushback.

Yeah that's why he'll get pushback...because of the insensitivity of the thread title. 🙄

“Thoughts and prayers“ haven’t brought anyone back either. They‘ve also failed time and time again to prevent additional mass shootings. Speaking out and supporting gun reform, on the other hand, has been proven to be effective in pretty much every other developed country on earth.

Push back all you want. I didn’t realize the “F*** your feelings” crowd was so hurt by “insensitive” comments, or so easily provoked. Need a hug?

What the actual **** are you talking about? Chicago and California have two of the most stringent and draconian gun laws on the books, yet they still have massive violent crime with guns. No, more gun laws do not work. They actually make it worse because you deprive a citizen of an inalienable right to self defense and the criminals don’t give one **** about the laws. So yeah, keep you head up your ass, and I’ll keep my guns.

Ask the hundreds of people in Chicago who die living in a city and state that has the most stringent gun laws in America and has been a leader in defunding police and having Woke DA’ s who support criminals over victims how it has worked out

Last thoughts and prayers we are hearing from those people has been turn off the lights on the way out of Chicago

Yes I am against violence and mayhem

Problem is in 2020 the riots in America was close to 600 with almost no consequences

People only want to talk but no action on the whole problem

Guns are only the worse part of the problem of many people are promoting hate to gain power

So I ask you how are those gun laws working out

Better than thoughts and prayers

Just pointing out the severity of the issue and the impossible hopes on a quick easy solution

For now

we need a border is what we need. where did he get the gun? is there anything to indicate he acquired it legally? because controlling our border would have prevented any chance of it happening. he was here illegally, we know that as fact. unless and until we know he purchased the weapon "legally", that's not even relevant to the conversation about preventing this event.

Are Chicago or California “other developed countries”? Is it geography or reading comprehension (or both) that you struggle with?

We are the only country that has this issue. other developed countries have mental health problems, immigrants, single parent homes, or whatever other excuse right wingers parrot. They don’t have the mass shootings. Why?

Just spit-balling here but, maybe other countries just don't allow that news out?

My understanding this guy is a illegal immigrant. We need stricter enforcement at the boarder . Is this guy tied to the drug cartel ? How did a illegal immigrant get a gun ? Did he bring the weapon over the border? Did the Mexican drug cartel furnish it once he came across the border ? Did he purchase it in the U.S. without proper identification ? Is the weapon tied to ATF gunwalking FAST and FURIOUS around 2009 ? Some of these guns have been tied to other murders.

Someone commits a crime with a weapon that's readily available all over the country, especially Texas, and your assumption is that it's a result of cartel gun running or an ATF sting operation from over a decade ago? That's a stretch to say the least. You can get an AR-15 at just about any pawn shop, gun show, or private sale. If I hear the sound of hoofs, I assume horses, not zebras.

Good question. The way I understand things, the easiest way to get your hands on a gun is to just show up at someone's house that has a gun for sale, pay them cash, take the gun and walk away. No muss no fuss no trail. That could be out of date now... but I bought a couple of shotguns this way when I was younger.

Even purchasing a weapon at a pawn shop one must have a ID and background check same at gun shows if purchasing from a license dealer . I don't expect a illegal that's been deported 5 times has a proper ID and can pass a background check. Not saying it was not a AR but the weapons the police removed from the house in the video I saw did not include a AR . Looked like 2 deer hunting long guns.

You really are a glutton for punishment, aren’t you…have you ever heard the saying “it’s best to look a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt?” Take the L, and walk away.
