How do you characterize pain level when a doctor asks you?

On a scale of 1 to 10. Here are my top three in order of most severe

10. Root Canal and you suddenly discover that you are not numb enough
9. Novocain shot to the upper part of your mount right behind your front tooth
8. Passing a Stone (Gallstone, Kidney Stone)
