Barring a major injury at the QB position, I see a minimum of four straight. The talent gap is wide this year and it is only getting wider.
This year: They don't know who their QB is, they don't have a number two receiver and they are one of the few teams in the country whose defense has more question marks than ours. I'll say this though, over the next 3 years this is their best chance to get a win.
*** Clemson Win***
Next year:
Deshaun aka TC1 (The Chosen One) will be a junior, we should have one of best RB groups in the country, the OL should be at least a little better and the defense will have talent, depth and experience all over the place. If Mike Williams returns then the WR group could be really special.
Meanwhile the Gamecocks will be breaking in a new QB, they'll be replacing their best OL, they will have the worst WR unit in the SEC, but they should be improved on defense. They'll have good front line talent on the DL (but will have depth concerns). They'll likely lose their best LB, but should see continued improvement in the secondary.
*** Clemson Win ***
2017: Clemson could field its first really good to elite offensive line in God knows how long. They'll have Feaster, Choice, Dye and Gallman at RB. They could potentially have the best front four in college football. They should have really good depth and experience at LB and the secondary will be talented, physical and athletic. Oh, and did I mention that Cain and Ray Ray would be juniors? Trevion Thompson will be a vet and we'll have Powell, Chase and Overton in their second year. If Clemson can be above average at QB that team could really make a run at the CFP.
Meanwhile the Gamecocks will be feeling the effects of poor recruiting, a coaching change and program uncertainty as they have their worst season in a long time. I can't think of any position outside of QB where they will be above average or better.
*** Clemson Win ***
