Let's say you're DRAD. Saban retires or heads to the NFL after this season. Alabama calls and Dabo decides to go home. What's your plan?
Here's what I do:
1) Immediately promote Venables to head coach.
2)On defense: promote Hobby to DC/possibly Reed as Co-DC to keep him from going to Bama with Dabo.
I'm hoping Brooks decides to stay based on his age/proximity to retirement (hopefully he doesn't want to move again).
3) On offense: Assuming at least one of our O-Coordinators goes to Bama with Dabo, retain the other one as O-Coordinator. Similar to defense, possibly make Streeter co-O Coordinator to keep him from going with Dabo. Like Brooks, here's hoping Caldwell is at a stage of his career that he doesn't want to start over at a new school and he stays at Clemson. If Caldwell leaves, bring back Dustin Fry from SMU or promote Thomas Austin.
4) Try like heck to keep Thad Turnipseed.
