Being a trumpublican is just like being a Bible worshipping evangelical christian. You treat it like a buffet, take the stuff you want and leave everything else.

I don't know man. Trump sounded kinda desperate to get the vaccine out so he could get the economy going again. Maybe Putin put somethin in it. Not sure I would be putting that stuff in my veins. You feel me?

Serious question - we all see the news that white Republican men are the problem when it comes to getting vaccinated and the dumbest red states lead the race to the bottom. Why is that? Make it make sense.

You can't, because its not true.

The largest percentage of people not vaccinated are African Americans. Only 25% have received even 1 dose. That is a group that votes solidly Dem by 95%. When you drill down into the states, especially the southern states, its the "black belt" that far and away the lowest percentage of vaccinated.

"About 13% of American adults don’t want a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. Republicans are the most resistant; nearly 3 in 10 say they don’t want one. The share is greater among rural, Republican men, 35% of whom don’t want to get a vaccine."

"At the beginning of the nation’s vaccine rollout, experts warned that people of color, particularly Black and brown people, could be skeptical or fearful about getting vaccinated. But over the past few months, white Republicans have emerged as the demographic group that’s proven most consistently hesitant about COVID-19 vaccines.

In Texas, 61% of white Republicans, and 59% of all Republicans regardless of race, either said they are reluctant to get the vaccine or would refuse it outright, according to the February University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll. That’s not an insignificant portion of the state’s population — over 52% of the state’s ballots in November were cast for former President Donald Trump."

I do not feel you. I’m still confused that the guy who is always 2 steps ahead of all the news outlets on every single story for 4 years got this one wrong. What you posted is nonsense. I just wanted to understand how you jumped from one to the other.

You have me confused with someone else but you might be correct about me being 2 steps ahead of all the news outlets on every single story. That's what twitter is all about. If it's trending on twitter, then it's about to come out on the news somewhere. Not always. Some stories don't pan out but those that do, you will read about it on twitter first.

Survey vs actual numbers provided by the CDC. Okey dokey.

I could post a bunch of other articles that show that vaccine hesitancy among blacks is going down while it remains the same for white male Republicans, but feel free to google that if you'd like. One could argue that vaccine hesitancy among blacks is more legitimate and not political, since they were experimented on in the past by being misled that they were receiving a vaccine when they weren't. White Republican males don't have that excuse, so by any measure, it appears to be solely political. That was my point and your stats don't address that.

You can google survey data all you want but "feelings" are not showing up in the numbers of who actually gets the vaccine. 90% of folks surveyed thought Alabama was going destroy us in 2018 too

Besides, vaccine uptake as plateaued across the board. African Americans are far below their expected representation of the population. Sure there are legitimate reasons for their hesitancy based on history, but since your whole world is based on party, vaccines are not being taken by majority democrat voters. You would think with all the "supposed AAPI hate" they would be resistant to taking a vaccine created by Trump, yet they are the highest percentage and well above their representation in the population.

You're not making sense but the numbers and polls don't lie. The only states that have reached the 70% vaccination goal by July 4th are blue states, whereas the red states, especially those in the South with the reddest populations are the furthest behind. If those facts don't matter to you, how about anecdotal evidence. The only people on this board arguing against them are Republican. Personally, every single person I know couldn't wait to get the vaccine except for my white Republican friends. This has nothing to do with my "feelings"

"The numbers are not surprising. A Monmouth University poll in March found that 36% of Republicans said they did not plan to get inoculated, compared to 6% of Democrats. An NPR-PBS Newshour-Marist survey around the same time found that 49% of Republican men said they would not get the shot, compared to 6% of Democratic men."

My takeaway here is that you think Black people can be deceived and White people can't.

I know right? Why don't you ask why dpic73 thinks that?
So if I'm following your logic - since black people are showing less vaccine hesitancy than white Republican males, they're being deceived more? WTF is wrong with your neurons?

You've already said that you don't follow logic. I was just making a logical conclusion based on your lengthy argument.

You probably think this was logically consistent.
You just added a fvck I didn't give. I asked you one simple question and you veered stupidly off track. Don't you have another conspiracy thread to start or summin?

you guys Are talking about two different things.

White men are saying they won't get the vaccine, more than any other group.

People of color, particularly poor people of color, aren't getting the vaccine. Generally this is due to lack of access, not a desire not to take it.

Lack of access? You mean like getting a driver's license or ID?

Full stop. Anyone can get the vaccine.

Here's a take I agree with about this entire mess

The media was reveling in the daily drama, and enjoying watching Trump essentially being driven to madness, while also enjoying the soaring media traffic as a result of lockdowns. This was true since March 2020. I cannot even fathom the depths of malice that was behind anyone who hoped that this lockdown mess could last all the way into the election 7 months later. But such people were surely extant and that is pretty much what happened with the exception of a few states. Trump’s enemies had him trapped in a cage of his own creation

Now if you really want to know how I feel about the entire covid mess from the beginning.

You obviously know what you are talking about and can speak confidently about the experience of EVERYONE in America.
Thanks. At first I thought you were being sarcastic and then I realized you have become aware of what great knowledge I have.

Tucker can really sum it up well. Check this last quote

The conclusion of the Washington Post book is as facile as one would expect. “One of the biggest flaws in the Trump administration’s response is that no one was in charge of the response,” they write.

No. Being “in charge” with a bad plan is not an answer. The biggest problem was an intellectual failing, and it was one shared by media elites and high-end intellectuals. They had not come to terms with the core truth that pathogens are part of the world around us and always have been. New viruses come along and their trajectory follows certain patterns. In humanity’s delicate dance with them, we need intelligence, rationality, and clarity in order to avoid the illusion of control – none of which are strengths of government.

This is why public health expertise in the 20th century always cautioned against extreme measures that cause more damage than the pathogen itself. And that highlights the single most mortifying aspect of what happened to the world in 2020: arrogance combined with ignorance blotted out all the lessons that humanity has previously worked so hard to discover and put into practice. The Trump presidency was not alone in failing the test but it was the single most conspicuous failure, one that would dramatically change the course of history.

Pretty sure they didnt' ask me my political affiliation while getting my shots so its no joke that the CDC would probably not have good data on this.

Well...................Trump is mostly always right. You got it right this time...LOL!!

lol that woman is a train wreck. can you imagine dealing with such a person that would take family disagreements to the internet and vent? wow i'd run screaming from that
No self-respecting man would run away screaming from that. You're just saying that because she's out of your league.
