The most disheartening thing to me was when the jobs report came out and we were way off expectations, the Biden administration touted it as a reason to CONTINUE extra unemployment benefits (i.e. “We’ve gotta keep these benefits going because these people can’t get jobs”). They know it’s those benefits that are causing people not to return to work. I think they’re going to be in for a rude awakening in midterms when folks toward the center who voted for Biden get a dose of this administration’s impact on our economy as it tries to recover. Couple that with his complete failure to lower the temperature on the culture wars and race-baiting, and it could be a bloodbath. Of course, unless Donald Trump and the crazies screw it up.
