That’s more Americans dead than in WWII. Tell me again how this is just the flu?

They also project that if 95% wore masks it would save 55,000. But hey, Trumpers gotta be Trumpers so **** those 55,000 Americans, right?

Did they have any estimates on how many will die from poverty, suicide and every other disease that people aren't presently getting treated for due to shutdowns, lack of economy, etc?

We should probably inaugurate Biden sooner so he can save as many as he can.

I bet it isn't 500K. Of course no one even believes that the pandemic is even real anyway.

95% of people will not wear a mask in America. No matter what. That just won’t happen, ever.

An estimated 6.2 million children (globally) under the age of 15 die from poverty or related conditions of poverty every year. That's just children, not inclusive of adults or elderly people.

You can't take the worlds largest economies, lock them down and expect that number not to grow. This is where you have to apply economics to decision making when you start talking about what to do in response to a pandemic, hence why I've said this for months now.......there wasn't a right response for all people. Trump didn't get it any more wrong than Biden would have.

As you'll get a glimpse of in the next few years, those stimulus checks have a long term penalty and just wait until we get to the tax shortage the nation will face. That means less money to donate, less money to fund non-profits, less government funding for critical programs, etc. Those poverty deaths will rise as a result, especially in really poor countries across places like Africa, India and parts of Asia where donations form 1st world places help solve medical, food, water etc issues.

And there's the answer right there. It doesn't matter how many people die, there's a lot of folks just like this. They aren't going to go an INCH out of their way to help anyone or have some sympathy unless there's something in it for them. You see it on the news every day. Someone who lost a loved one saying that they didn't believe it... until it happened to them. I hope it doesn't happen to you.

He referenced masks, not lockdowns. :)

Where did I say I didn’t wear one? I do wear one. I’m just telling you that no matter what I think, 95% of people in America will not wear them.

Since Republicans are blocking further help for American businesses, families, and workers and Trump is currently screwing up vaccine distribution, that’s actually a great idea.

Getting Biden in early would probably save a couple hundred thousand live and speed the recovery significantly.

I hope you’re right, but sadly, I’d take you up on that bet. The infuriating thing is that it didn’t have to be close. If we’d had a competent president we’d be talking about maybe 150,000. AND we wouldn’t be talking about the possibilities of more lockdowns now.

hey moron, the only reason we’re even talking about mire lockdowns is because Trump refused to take this seriously. If we had a competent president, we’d have been able to reopen months ago.

He’s a keyboard warrior. Ever notice how the libs scream equality and talk about how smart they are yet they’re the ones who resort to 3rd grade name calling?😂😂

Especially the one you’re speaking with, seems very much like he’s 7-9 years old with the name calling he does. Sad

ah yes, we’re the ones saying “libtard” and “Marxist” all the time, right?

Also, I AM smarter than both of you. That doesn’t make you bad people. It’s the bad faith lying that does that.

Marxist isn't name calling, it's a real thing........you're either a marxist or you aren't. Libtard could be deemed as a negative connotation and for the record, I don't recall needing to demean anyone to have a conversation about current events but different strokes for different folks I guess.

Staking your claim as the smartest guy on the board is pretty subjective......I mean, what's the criteria? Honors grad with a communications degree? High scores on those social media IQ tests? Your wife tells you how smart you are all the time? How do we prove it.......spelling bee?

To be honest with you, there are some other guys on here with opposing views that come across as much more thoughtful, academic and composed than yourself........no offense of course.

Ah yes, the “im smarter than you” take from a liberal. Never fails, meanwhile the cities and states they run have high crime rates/increasing debt/companies (like Tesla) moving away to FREE themselves of the “liberal way”.

Congrats

There are some on here that deserve to be called names but not Jake. I don't like most of his views but he's good people.

Nazi is also a real thing. So it’s OK if I call you that, even if you’re not? OK, got it, you Nazi moron.

As per my intelligence relative to yours, I have degrees in physics and engineering from MIT and Stanford, so I’d have been pretty confident on that front before you opened your mouth and confirmed it.

Ah yes, the “those communists” take from a conservative. Regurgitating patently false Fox News talking points. Meanwhile, the states they run are backwards shit holes falling behind in the modern economy.

Highest crime rates: 7 of top 9 are red states (including South Carolina):

GDP per capital: 9 of 12 highest are blue states while 9 of 10 lowest are red states:

US News Best Run States: 8 of top 10 are blue states:

Best state economies (based on a variety of metrics): 4 of top 5 are blue states; 4 of bottom 5 are red states:

Thanks for making my point on relative intelligence, though!
