Actually, you cant. He needs to direct things in private and stick to the script in public. That is why he has people to do press/media/publicity stuff.
His narcissism will not allow him to do so. He has to be in front of the camera, having people unnecessarily praise him, as if he is the lab developing the cure himself.

Seriously though. He won't lose ONE VOTE for this. I've been saying it for his entire Presidency. He can do and say ANYTHING and his legions of followers will support their new Lord and Savior with the devotion of a Muslim splinter cell. "There is no God but Trump and Hannity is his Prophet!" might as well be their motto. At a freaking briefing about Coviod, he LITERALLY asks out loud if it is feasible to cook yourself with UV light and shoot up disinfectant... and that's OK. He's doing a great job. Like he said out loud right before the election. he could go out on the street and shoot someone and not lose a vote. It's true.
