Looking at their schedule over the past few years, Notre Dame hasn't really faced many difficult road football environments. They seem to love those neutral field games.
In 2012 they played at Oklahoma, at BC, at Michigan State (good environment), and at the LA Coliseum.
In 2013 they played at Michigan, at Purdue, at Pitt, at Air Force and at Stanford.
In 2014, they played at Arizona State, at FSU (good environment), and at the Coliseum again.
It looks like FSU last year in Tally was the most difficult one they have faced over the past 3 years. I think we'd all agree that at FSU is pretty tough.
Death Valley will be one of the few places Notre Dame has played where there is a real home field advantage and we'll need it on Saturday night.
