You thought, perhaps, that it wouldn't come back. You thought that maybe after each injury followed by injury that it couldn't happen again. Add in no-clout-three-and-out-throws-the-wrong-route-Stoudt, and you were certain you wouldn't feel it again.
And then, you feel a vibration in your pants. What could that be? Probably nothing, but you check just to be sure. You reach in there deep, and pull your phone out. As your finger slides up the side to press the power button, you almost drop the device. It's been months. It seems like it's been a lifetime. When you see that 600-600 on the screen you start to feel it again. You feel the blood rush. Like your Middle School self day-dreaming in Mrs. Jones math class You feel the proverbial "six" begin to slowly inch it's way towards "twelve."
Why are you feeling this? What is this rushing of the blood that you haven't felt in ages? It's a program changer. Big daddy Tre Tre has pulled the trigger, and in turn, has pushed your trigger. That trigger that you felt for the first time on February 1st, 2012.
February 1st, 2012. What a day. It was the day- the day you knew you could feel again. The day where everything changed. The day where HE decided to join the brotherhood of Tigers. You felt it for the first time that day. You felt the twitch in your pants- you felt the blood begin to rush. But it didn't swell into what it would become until two and a half years later.
August 30th, 2014. Our Boyz are down 14-7 with 14 minutes left in the half, and the one and only checks into the game. HE drops back and throws the most beautiful ball in the history of balls thrown for a TD to he-aint-a-sheikh-peake. In that instant, it happened. It brought you something that Vic Bonesly never did- your Venaboner has never gotten you there- your Daboner is the only thing that has gotten close. But nothing got you ready for what you felt that day. Nothing. And it happened again and again and again. Until the injuries. Until Pouty Stoudty ruined everything.
But after last night you were reminded that September is coming. You felt that twitch in your pants, and what had lain dormant for so long began to grow again. 50 days until kickoff. Death Valley is coming. The Tigers are coming. But what are you most excited about coming? YOUR
