These two guys have strategically planed which events to pull out of so that the other has a better change against Trump... Wild!!!

I alreadh couldnt think less of Cruz but this makes me think less of Kasich. The establishment allowed trump to run as a Republican if that what the voters want then so be it.

Trump is speaking at a rally now...does he even realize he's on TV??
He has yet to say anything of substance. I swear, I think this is a prank and we're getting punked.

i've got a mixed opinion...

i'm a real believer in delgates and the need of a majority, however, i'm of the opinion that the candidates should be able to hand pick their own backers to be delegates. the local party chairs getting invovled is ridiculous and is making it seem more manipulative than it needs to be.

a majority of delegates voting for someone who didn't get the most primary votes is not corrupt, if that that person best represents the values and interests of the voters who empowered those delegates.

i.e. in a 3 person race with 2 near identical protypical candidates (1a and 1b) and a 3rd extreme candidate (3) where 1a got 30%, 1b got 25%, and 3 got 45% there is plenty of justification for why 1a should be nominated. This is a clean hypothetical, but it stresses the reason a majority is required.

the problem is that the delegates don't appear be fair representatives of their voters but party plants instead.

campaigns should have up or down approval on delegates to represent them. all delegates assigned to folks still claiming to be running should be committed for at least 2 votes, with zombie delegates released after the first vote. If there is no majority after 2 votes then i'm 100% in favor of it being a free-for-all... but only if you don't have trojan horse delegates planted to over-ride the voters... i.e. theoretically Jeb Bush delegates would go to Kasich as Kasich has the closest ideology to Jeb Bush of the candidates left... instead you've got Cruz plants being inserted all over the place.

Typical Washington insiders. Lie, cheat, steal and connive. Exactly why Trump has so much support. The fun will really begin when Trump unloads on Billary. Grab the popcorn!

I hope this is a joke. The Clintons are two of the most astute politicians in this country. They didn't achieve what they've achieved by chance. Hillary Clinton will wipe the floor with Trump. Trump doesn't know squat about being president.

Politics would be better if it was perceived as fair.

You are never going to get it perfect, but the convoluted delegate rules, gerrymandered districts, politically motivated drawing of congressional districts, unlimited campaign finance money, constantly changing voter laws and processes that are aimed to increase/decrease vote, etc definitely make it easy to feel jaded by the political process.

Trump is the biggest whiner ..........the Jim Boehiem of politics

Time will tell. Trump won't go easy on Hillary like Bernie has. The gloves will come off. You are correct though, the Clintons are two of the most astute (crooks) politicians in this country.

I reluctantly acknowledge that the Cruz-Kasich alliance is too late. The other fact is that while some folks want to believe it, not every Kasich supporter in, say, Indiana, will go to the polls and vote for Cruz. And vice versa in Oregon. What is likely to happen is that Trump will be the second choice of a number of voters who support Cruz or Kasich.

I have come to the realization that Trump will be the GOP nominee. Probably first ballot win.

Makes me sad. And I won't vote for him. What will happen to down-ballot Republicans will be unfortunate. I was in Georgia last week speaking with a number of conservative GOP elected officials and their senior staffers. To a person, they see disaster for Republicans in the US Senate and House is Trump is the presidential nominee. And they don't feel much better if it ends up Cruz, either.

Agree, Clinton's didn't get where they are today by being "nice" and honest or lawful for that matter.

Cruz and Kasich are hacks, they aren't much better either.

Great post.

320 million Americans and these 5 fools are the best we could come up with? Pathetic isn't it.
POTUS has turned into an Ego trip, smart Business leaders stay the hell away from it and for good reason.

no one worth a shit will ever be elected because no one worth a shit is stupid enough to run. Only a person with a massive sense of duty to run could be a truly great president. everyone else is a choice between lesser evils.

A lot of Kasich supporters are moderates and Trump will get many of those votes. It's over Cruz and Kasich and the rest of the republicans need to except it. Not a big Trump fan but if he doesn't win the nomination I see no reason to vote in the republican primary in the future because it would be obvious you vote doesn't count.

Very astute. Corporate media already reporting that interviews w/Indiana voters show Kasich voters (except 1) will not be voting for Cruz-and several reportedly will vote for Trump now. Circular firing squad.

One would think they would have focused grouped this Kasich drop out before it became a fait accompli. Looks like Trump now has a better shot at beating Cruz in Indiana makes me happy. We shall see.

Hillary is speaking about Safe Gangs and being investigated by the FBI. She is responsible for people dying and she is going to walk into the White House easier than any candidate ever has. The republican party which I support, is an absolute train wreck.

Each states process is different and I respect the differences. As far as primary's go, remember these are private companies (yes, the political parties are companies) who set their own rules and only discord will cause them to change what they have histroically done.

As far as who gets the nomination it should be the guy with the most delegates provided that is more than 1237, absent that it whoever gets there after however many ballots that they have. Only recently has Trump realized that and hired seasoned insiders who know the rules, which by the way have not changed and it makes me honestly question how focused is has been on the goal.

Honestly, what I rally hate about what is going on is it is so much personal BS and not what their vision is... I blame Trump for starting it and the others, including most who have dropped out, for taking the bait.

We do not live in a democracy and I never want to live in an absolute democracy. We live in a representative democracy and honestly our founders knew better than most the problems of playing to the majority.
