Their newiest article claims that losing Kelly will be a good thing for Synder. It states that there are some things that "cannot be controlled" when it comes to recruiting and that things have changed since he father has come back into play. Basically saying we are cheating.

As much as I like what Synder has done to that program, get over it.

I can empathize to some degree. It imagine it would be similar if Daquan went to K St. instead of Clemson. I absolutely love big time out of state DEs coming to play for the Tigers because I know how much this staff works for it but to the casual outside observer this type of intracontinental jump might resurrect the ole "what are they doin down there?" type questions

It's easy to forget how good we have it here with Cris, Paul and Larry. It's amazing what passes for "journalism" on a lot of the other rivals sites. That article (I only read the Kelly portion) reads like a message board post from a fan.

Suddenly, all the comments from Kelly about JUCOs makes sense to me (I can be a little slow).

Well sold, Dabo. Well sold.

1. Shocked Kstate has a forum in which you can read fan reactions.
2. Didn't know Kstate recruited non juco kids.
3. People in the little Apple accusing little ole Clemson of cheating means we are doing something right.

lmao, tigerjl just dropped the mic and walked off stage...

exactly...like Urban used to say before ever stepped onto campus. If you have never been to Clemson, never spent any time around this staff, seen the campus, etc...you wont understand and will assume cheating.

There is something in these hills boys and girls

and I am sure Venables being the one that landed him pisses them off even more

I remember being floored when Urban said that during our game. I can't remember who we were playing... Does anybody have a clip of that? It was awesome free marketing. Hope Thad is using that somehow.

That's why i love watching the 2011 Auburn game, Urban just gushes over Clemson!

I didn't read that as them saying anybody was cheating. Just sounds like the story they have is that KState made a big initial impression on Xavier, but his father wanted him to take his time and look for bigger opportunities. Given Xavier's subsequent raised profile and all the offers he's gotten, it seems like that was the right thing for his father to do.

Fans like to interpret everything as if the only reason the other guy could beat them is that they're cheating, but another favorite pastime of fans is looking for slights from other team's fans/ media. Clemson fans, in particular, seem really sensitive to stuff like this. Sometimes it's like the only thing we'll accept is others sounding like as big of fans as we are.

I, too, understand the JUCO comments now. I guess it was to spurn him from K. State

With that said, I feel like I've met fans from a lot of programs. I don't know if I've ever met a Kansas State fan honestly ... didn't realize they had a fan forum haha
