- First I'd like to say I'm glad Mike Williams will be okay in the long run and is likely to play football again. Neck injuries are scary and I'm glad this one is relatively minor given what could have been.
- How fortunate are we that we've strung together Spiller, Watkins, and Watson is such a short period of time? When was the last time any school had such a run on great individual talents?
- IMO Williams will be missed most in the red zone and on third down. That means it's really time for Leggett to step up and fill that role. I know he was absent from the game plan Saturday but I think that was intentional. I also wouldn't expect him to be featured much Saturday. However, if he really has stepped it up, I'd expect him to be a major part of the game plan against Louisville.
- The talent we've accumulated over the last 4-5 years is staggering. The young guys on the OL and DL specifically were a sight to behold since we've been so inconsistent at the line of scrimmage over the last several dozen years...(outside of the last two years on D obviously).
- Deon Cain looked like a freshman trying to learn a new position for much of the game, but the flashes are there, and I'd be willing to bet he makes a game-breaking play against either Louisville or ND. The perceptions of his performance would be very different if NS hadn't overthrown him when he was running free for 6.
- KB is our second best QB. I hope he gets more reps than NS on Saturday. I respect Dabo's stance on honoring veteran guys, but if the unthinkable happens to #4, then #2 is the guy that gives us the best chance to win IMHO.
- After watching us and Louisville I feel better about our chances. We looked better than I thought we would (I know we played a JV team), and Louisville didn't look as impressive as I expected. Auburn tried to give them the game and they wouldn't take it. I expect our guys to be ready, and I'm sure DW has this game circled on his calendar given what unfolded last October.
- Lastly, Watson is a transcendent talent, and every game he lines up under center we have a better than 50% (evenly considerably better) of winning. The 2015 team will go as far as Watson takes us, and if he stays healthy, I think that'll be pretty far. This season has the potential to be a lot of fun.
