So what's the majority feeling around here? Are you guys nervous at all about the inexperience at the OC position. I know the bowl game gave a lot of you a feeling of security in their ability to call a game but let's be objective for a minute, it was one game. Think about the mood of this board had we lost our bowl game (in regards to our feelings towards the Scott/Elliot promotion).
Do you think we continue to run Deshaun Watson as much as he was being ran last season before ultimately hurting his knee? IMO, you'll see them cut back a bit on the designed QB runs. DW doesn't have the stocky, 225 lb frame that Tajh Boyd played with. He proved he can throw the ball with the best of them and I believe that'll give the OCs some added trust to the reliability of DW's right arm. He's best when the play breaks down and he's improvising anyways. With such a huge drop-off from 1st to 2nd string, we've got to keep him healthy. What's the philosophy?
He's got a ton of weapons to choose from in the back field and at the WR positions (including Cain and McCloud bc I think they play this season). DW has the talent around him to make the transition fairly easy for Scott/Elliot. It seems like it's going to be tough for them to call a bad play with the amount of talent back there.
......then you remember it depends on our OL play.
It's aggravating to feel like our OL is the weakest link almost ever season - hope to see that change this year.
