First thought... Wow, just wow. Did NOT see that coming. I did think that if we played well, we could win comfortably (14-17 points) and MAYBE, if we made things miserable for their QB, we could run away with it. But win by 50+? Nope.

My second thought is to say slow down on the runaway "Clemson has arrived" vibe. Miami just flat out quit. That first TD drive sucked the life out of the fans. The first interception cracked the Miami player's resolve and when their QB headed to the locker room, they simply lay down and quit. It just took a while for their mouths (which run incessantly) to realize it. Kind of reminds me of the Bowl game with Louisville and Florida where Louisville WRs were getting 20+ yard receptions and the UF DBs were flexing on the tackles that brought them down.

Point being that we need to be careful about the conclusions we draw from this beat down. Clemson is good, maybe even really good. I'm not using the great word yet. I remember a certain 8-0 top ten team that went into a crappy NC State game thinking they had the world by the tail... Hopefully we are past that (and I think we are). But EVERY week we see examples of teams not taking care of business. Anyone think GT was going to win that one?

Other thoughts:

Again, I'm not going to talk about execution on either side of the ball. Of course I'm pleased as can be with it, but I'm not sure what to make of it long term. This game turned into a scrimmage early in the 2nd quarter.

Was SUPER impressed with Watson's decision making after the game was out of hand (21-0) and he was still in it. He did a GREAT job of limiting the hits he took while still running the offense. Last year, he would have taken hits to get a few more yards... he slid and ran out of bounds when it was smart to do so.

Very impressed with the way we rolled our backups in early and got our LBs out quicker. God knows they all needed the snaps and wow, the backups were loving their time in the spotlight. Very encouraged by some of that backup play. Hopefully we can get more looks vs. Syracus, WF, and the Chickens.

Wow, KB is VERY fast. Much faster than Watson. The kid has jets. If he can learn the passing game, he will be one DANGEROUS dude.
