I'm gonna laugh when the cancer cure is a MRNa vaccine and you guys have to choose whether to believe science this time.
Dude. Science doesn't have anything to do with the thinking here. There's a world/political view here that these Trumpians have. If something isn't aligned with that world view, it must be attacked and destroyed. They are FINE with science that agrees with that world view. Science that doesn't... not so much.
Take Climate Change for example. That's a big one. Switching from our current energy generation systems and ways of doing things will hurt the economy. That's just the bottom line... hell, just building the infrastructure for electric cars is a HUGE task, not even mentioning dealing with the battery issues that come with that. That's going to be a huge expense to replace something that's already working.
So, the Trumpians (and those like them) are against hurting the economy. Period. BUT, the other side of that is we are killing the entire planet if what climate folks are saying is true. Not in our lifetimes, but our grandkids are going to be in some real trouble.
Now you can't say that you don't give a shit about that b/c it's not you, but your grandkids and their kids that's going to pay the price down the road. That would make you a bad person. So you can't say that out loud. You can't even say it to yourself... maybe ESPECIALLY not to yourself. So what do you do if you are a Trumpian? I mean, you aren't a bad person right? You can't be, right?
So you attack the science. Any little thing that doesn't fit exactly... Any mistake that was made, maybe buy off a few PhDs that work for energy companies. Whatever you need to do. Attack all climatologists as a group that's lying so they can get more grants. WHATEVER it takes to sow that doubt is what you need to do. THEN, you can protect the economy b/c doubting the science gives you what you need.
And realize that these folks BELIEVE what they are saying. To paraphrase the great English Theologian CS Lewis... When a good person starts lying about important things, the first person that they lie to is themselves. And the problem with lying to ourselves, is that we are easily fooled, and come to believe these lies quickly and absolutely.
Hydrogen peroxide isn't absorbed by the skin. It works because as a reactive oxygen species it can quickly breakdown the membranes of any cells - bacteria, cancer, or your own healthy tissue. It has no way of differentiating between anything. If you drink it you will become incredibly sick and possibly die. If you vaporize and inhale it, you will die an agonizing death as your lungs literally melt inside you. The reason why it turns your skin white is because, in a desperate attempt to protect your body from damage, the enzyme catalase is produced and secreted by your cells which results in the trapping of oxygen in the extracellular space in your skin tissue. Fun stuff.
There is zero evidence that antineopeptides are a safe or effective treatment against cancer. They are DNA chelators, meaning the chemical physically wedges itself inbetween the strands of your DNA and prevents that sequence from being replicated. May be it enters into one of your cancer cells and stops protein synthesis, killing it. It is much more likely that it goes into one of the much more numerous healthy cells in your body and kills it instead (or even better, just mutates it into more cancer!). It's chemo, if chemo was way worse for your body and didn't actually work at all.
Probiotics won't cure your cancer. The fun thing about microbial diversity and ecology is that we have little understanding of why anyone ends up with the microbial communities they do, or how they get maintained. Even better, if you sample the microbiomes of different healthy people you'll almost certainly discover that they have few or no organisms in common. The current theory is that it's not the species, but the functional niche being filled that matters for human health. The problem is that we have no idea how many functional niches they are, what species are best in each niche, and how all these different niches interact with each other. Probiotics are largely a scam as well - as soon as you stop taking them the bacteria in the probiotic are cleared from your system. You're much better off eating lots of vegetables and whole grains while limiting consumption of high processed foods and redmeat. Drink green tea. Maintaining that diet will actually promote the development of microbial communities we believe are associated with good health.

That is a pretty asinine statement. Either that or just a complete lack of understanding about covid vaccines. There were zero long term studies of the covid vaccines before they were given to humans. IF, there is a cure for cancer there will be clinical human trials and extensive ones, at that- no matter if it is mrna based or not. This will happen before they are given to humans except for possible experimental basis cases where death is likely without it.
Another difference is that no will be FORCED to take the drug/vaccine just to go to school, keep their job, or enter the country.
If you can't see the difference in those scenarios you are simply a low IQ human (which I do not think is the case), or completely lack objectivity on the issue.

They had been studying mRNA for decades so it's not like it just popped up out the blue in 2020. At the time, finding a vaccine for Covid was an emergency so it's not like they could afford to spend years studying it when they already understood the safety profile. We should be lauding this advancement in science , especially since it saved millions of lives.

The irony here is that this research is at least partially funded by the US National Cancer Institute, which is funded by the American taxpayer. The same way we fund medical research in Ukraine and china.

Well, I can finally chime in on cancer since I am currently under a doctor's care. I started taking different supplements (after registing a high PSA in January) that research has shown to help slow, reduce or stop cancer growth in some patients. My PSA went down from 7.45 to 5. I was diagnose with cancer last month. I had to submit my list of vitamins and supplements I take to my doctor and he will tell me what to stop taking when he starts my radiation treatments in a few weeks. Once they insert target markers and do a new MRI and CT it will be interesting to see if I had any reduction from the previous MRI and CT. The cancer is confined to a small area at this time.
I'm in excellent health otherwise - I walk 12-15 miles a day and do 22 weight machines daily at the YMCA like I'm getting ready for two a days. I do 16/8 intermittent fasting everyday and just completed a 72 hour fast yesterday. That fast is suppose to induce your body to attack weak cells including cancer.
I'm looking forward to making some new friends in the coming weeks as I go to treatments everyday for a month. God is providing me an opportunity to share his blessings.

There is no singular cure for cancer, which is why something as simple as rubbing hydrogen peroxide on your arm isn't gonna do anything. Killing a cancer cell is incredibly easy - you can bleach it, dump poison on it, freeze it, burn it up in an oven. It's all really easy to do. The problem isn't killing cancer. The problem is how do you kill cancer without killing the patient, because a cancer cell is 99.9% identical to one of your healthy cells.
Case in point: I accidentally let a culture of HeLa (ovarian cancer cells) die because I forgot to change out their nutrient media and they starved to death. So according to that, we can cure cancer in patients by... starving them to death. Good luck getting anyone to sign up for that.
Suppose you have lung cancer. How will you administer medications? By IV? Then how do you get the medication out of the circulatory system and into the lung itself, because only gasses like oxygen and carbon dioxide can readily cross that barrier. May be you inhale the medication, but if you have drugs that are strong enough to kill lung cancer cells then they're also going to kill your healthy lung cells. And if you have cancer deep in your lungs, how do you stop the drugs from killing any cells in your upper respiratory tract? And then what if the cancer metastasizes? How do you get medication designed to kill lung cancer cells, and so operate within the respiratory system, into say your GI tract? Or your lymph system? Your bones? What if it spreads to your brain? How do you get the drug to cross the blood-brain barrier without killing you (figuring that out by it self would make you lots of money)?
There is no secret cure to cancer that the government or pharmaceutical companies are hiding. If there was some magic bullet that could cure all cancers, the person who discovered it would overnight become on the of the most famous individuals in the history of our species. It would usher in a new age of medicine, similar to what occurred after the discovery and adoption of antibiotics. The company who owned the technology would make trillions and trillions of dollars overnight, because what wouldn't people pay for it? Or give it away for free, and become a global hero. And if such a cure did exist and was kept secret, some scientist would steal it and give it away for all the above reasons.

The big thing will be the development of personalized medicine. This has been a bit of a buzzword for the last five or ten years, but it's really poised to take off here pretty soon. CRISPR-Cas (Cas9 is most well known but Cas12a is probably what we'll end up using) systems are being engineered that will allow us to make precise changes to a cell's genome.
The end goal is at the time of making a cancer diagnosis, the doctor will collect a sample and those cancer cells will have their genome sequenced. This will identify the cancer as well as the specific mutations the cells have that will be unique to you. From there, a custom vaccine can be engineered that will allow your immune system to target the neo-antigens that are present in or on the cancer cells, and the cancer will be destroyed. Another alternative is to have the doctor collect a blood sample and the T Cells present will be engineered to attack the cancer in the same way.
It's pretty straightforward, but we're not quite at the point where we can be confident that the CRISPR system will do exactly what we want it to with an acceptable level of error. Cas12a has advantages in the types of cuts it makes in the genome as well as its fidelity, but the best engineered versions we have currently are only running at around an 80% accuracy level. Probably fine if you're able to individually screen T Cells on a microscope, not super great if you're trying to cure a genetic disorder that's present in every cell in your body. Really hoping neural networks will take off here in the next two or three years, a lot of the structural biology questions can get answered much more quickly, and this is something that can be in widespread use 15-20 years from now.
