Just spent some time at Death Valley with Dan Radakovich as he provided a periodic update on the ongoing facilities upgrades. More on that in a moment, but first some additional nuggets from practice:

-- Jeff Scott listed a few of the takeaways from last week's scrimmage, and things that need to be improved in the upcoming scrimmage Wednesday. In order of importance: 1) center-quarterback exchanges were sloppy last week, particularly with the second and third groups; 2) too many negative plays as a result of the quarterback not getting the ball out in time; 3) there were "two or three" plays downfield that should have been made.

Bottom line, Scott said, two or three plays are often the difference between a good game and a great game. Those were the plays the offense didn't make last week.

-- He continued to praise Germone Hopper. Said he's being noticed for the good things and not the bad things. Said he's playing three different positions.

-- Reiterated that this offensive line is as good or better than any OL he's seen since he's been here.

-- Touched on this earlier, but here are the positions that the early-enrolled freshman are predominantly playing right now: Mitch Hyatt LT, Jake Fruhmorgen RT, Noah Green LG, Zach Giella C.

OK, now to Radakovich's state of the facilities union:

-- 535 of 600 South-side club seats have been sold. Eighty of 89 suites have been leased, and there's a waiting list greater than nine for those remaining suites.

-- All of the suites on the north and south side will have retractable windows.

-- The next step in the approval process for the new football facility will take place this week, when the plans go through the Commission on Higher Education and the Joint Bond Review Committee and Budget and Control Board. Ideally, final approval comes within the calendar year and they're able to get started in 2016.

-- Radakovich vehemently denied any notion that they scaled back the cost of the Littlejohn renovation. He said they're doing everything they initially intended to do with the rebuild and they "haven't changed a thing."

-- Also, Radakovich said he anticipates Howard's Rock returning to its home soon with "increased and updated" security.

-- Radakovich was asked about baseball's struggles and how it might affect his view of Jack Leggett's tenure. Basically said it's too early to make any judgments and that teams can have tough starts and finish strong.
