Was watching the Garrett Riley SMU clinic video and he spends a decent chunk talking about how he uses jet motion. The video got me thinking about just how much (how little?) we actually got to see of the offense during the spring game. I went back and watched every snap in the spring game, and by my count they used motion only four times. Two were kind of swings by the running backs but the other two were the jet motions Riley discussed in his clinic. On one Kevin McNeal dropped the exchange with Pearman with 00:46 left in the game. The other, however, was a red zone touchdown for Domonique Thomas where the defender vacates the area Thomas is about to run.
The fact that we didn't really see any window-dressing in the spring game that manipulates defenders like that reinforces that the offense we'll see come fall will have so many more wrinkles than what we've seen so far. It should be fun.
