This is a pretty intriguing matchup in the ACC Atlantic. I really don't know a ton about NC State so far, since they've only played- and badly beaten- a bunch of cupcakes. Their defense has been pretty stingy, but again, that's been against some bad teams. For instance, they held ODU to 148 total yards and -3 rushing in a 38-14 win, but App State also held ODU to 175 total yards while shutting ODU out. App State also outgained NC State offensively against ODU. It looks like NC State wants to focus on the ground game, as they're averaging around 250 yards rushing per game.
We know that UofL has a hard time running the ball conventionally. We also know that they haven't been great against the run so far. They are, however, pretty stingy against the pass. We still don't really know who they are offensively. Jackson played almost all of their last game against Stanford, and he put up really big numbers. But will he struggle against a defense with better talent like he did against Houston? Or will he look like he did in the second half against Auburn?
This is the ACC home opener for NC State, so their fans will be excited. However, it's at 12:30. Vegas has State favored by 4.5, but I think Louisville wins this one by 3-10.
What do you think (and why)?
