We live in amazing times.

UPS just unloaded my new shower door into my garage. Less then 16 hours from ordering. After trying to deal with Lowes on a shower door without getting alot of good advice we went online yesterday afternoon and selected a door from FaucetDirect.com. We selected the 2-5 day shipping at no cost. You could upgrade to 1 day shipping for additional $600.00 which is almost as much as the door. We declined the 1 day shipping.

I am remodeling an upstairs bathroom at our house. I replaced the fiberglass tub/shower unit with a fiberglass four piece shower unit. You see these one day shower replacement advertised but that doesn't leave you with a completely remodeled bathroom. We removed existing wallpaper, lavatory top, toilet, wood trim and all bath accessories in our DIY.
We bought the shower unit from a local plumbing company supplier at half the price of the same unit from Lowes. They recommended we buy our new shower door from Lowes. Ordering from Lowes was going to take a few weeks.

Cause Lowes pays them a finders fee

Specifically there are deals between vendors that are not in your best interest

Thankfully, I spent 55 years in the construction industry so I not naive on how the system operates. But I'm amazed how quickly you can order and receive things today. For example:
In the early 90's, I was working as a VP/PM for a construction company fast tracking a 25 million dollar renovation of a 3 story warehouse/display building purchased by an Italian Furniture Manufacturer into their new American showroom/corporate office. We were working off of sketches submitted to the city for foundations and floor additions when the engineers called to add some number 9 rebars into the 4th floor roof concrete pour to anchor the building extension that was a leaning curve wall mimicking the bow of a ship. The number of phone calls it took to air freight the rebar connection devices out of Michigan and to have a truck pick up the rebar 200 miles away and deliver to the job site on a Monday in NC to make a Wednesday pour schedule was endless.

Today, you can go online and do the same and then Pray to God that some woke liberal doesn't **** it up

My son and I did flipping and remodeling and an now out of that , but like your description above he is doing some remodeling and he orders everything on line

wirks great cuts out Lowes Home Depot etc

great quality generally after you find the right on line vendors

I am finding it is cheaper to buy some stuff on line rather than build in place
