I'll start by saying I'm a Google loyalist, and would really like to be persuaded that a Nexus Player will do the things I want it to do. I think the safer bet is the Fire TV though.
That said, before football season I'm subscribing to sling with either a Nexus Player or a Fire TV. Apparently, Nexus player just got support for the Harmony Hub, which has put it back into contention. Amazon has had Harmony support for a while. Has anybody on here had a good experience with the nexus player? is it functional as a stand alone box or does it require a secondary device to cast to it in most cases?
Biggest gripes with each:
I use google music and won't be able to stream to Fire Tv without sideloading.
Don't exepct to get good Amazon Video support from Nexus Player.
Thoughts?
