I'm starting the initial stages of planning an (extended family) trip to Florida for 2024 to celebrate my dad's (hopeful, long awaiting) retirement. 6 adults and 2 kids. Just trying to get some good options from the TI faithful to put under consideration. My parents never travel. My mom will be happy with about anything since she never gets to go anywhere. My dad lives in his own little bubble and doesn't really like to travel, but he'll be along for a good time.
1) I think the best fit for us would be to rent a cool house with a pool. That said, I have no idea what areas to consider. It doesn't really matter if it's a happening place or very low-key. We just want to spend QT together as a family and will have young kids with us most likely. The tropical vibe would be a bonus.

I think our family would have more fun in a house to ourselves but not having to worry with food/drinks would be a major bonus as our family can't decide which shoe to put on first. Which leads me to...
**Bonus question: Under option one, are there any options for getting a chef for a vacation, and if so, what's that cost looking like? I know it can be done but I don't even know how to go about researching those options - and what areas might cater to it.
Fire away...
