If so inclined would appreciate thoughts - been looking for something good to watch on that front- true standup not sketchetc.... Still quite a lot to choose from. I have to go with Chris Rock - Just because my era, his longevity/relevance, and the fact he was so ridiculously true on a ride range of real life style issues. Thoughts?

Louis CK
Jim Gaffigan

Seen live or on video? I saw Jerry Seinfeld live and laughed nearly the entire time. I was not too excited to go and only went because my brother was a big fan but learned quickly why NBC gave him his own show.

Saw Kevin Hart at Littlejohn. Hilarious.

Maybe it was the 'influence' I was under, but Eddie Murphy's - Delirious absolutely had my dying laughing when I saw it.

Lots of good ones out there but one of my pet peeves with comedians is when 75% of their act is based on racial jokes. Don't get me wrong, I can get a good laugh out of those types of jokes. They are jokes after all, but when the entire show is centered around that one concept it gets old real fast and I have zero desire to go to one where that is the case.

Lewis Black opened for Dennis Miller. He stole the show. He was hilarious. Also Wanda Sikes and Rodney Dangerfield

King of Comedy
Ron White
Pryor
Are ones I've seen but would see again - very funny.

Hadn't thought about Robin Williams, or Kevin Hart will check it out thanks!

Sinbad. Was the third night of a 3 night run so he'd done all of his jokes ad nauseam by then. He kind of quit his act half way through and just started telling stories about his childhood and then asking for people to give him stuff to talk about. All of it was fall out of your chair funny but totally improvised.

Good comedy shows are tricky. They'll have you laughing the entire time and then as soon as you leave, you can only remember a joke or 2. It's infuriating.

Rodney dangerfield hands down. Shot down every audience heckler instantly( he encouraged it and enjoyed the interaction).

Saw Mike Epps in Greenville and Aziz Ansari in Nashville....both very funny shows

Kevin Hart and Ron White. Saw a guy from Barbershop 3 as an opener this past weekend and he was hilarious.

Going to see Leno on Saturday so we'll see.

Tim Wilson and it's not close. May he RIP.

Bill Burr
Patrice Oneal RIP
Doug Stanhope
Jim Jeffries
Steve Hoffsteter
Neal Brennan (was Chappelles writing partner)
Dave Chappelle
I'm sure I will think of more later

To mention a couple that haven't been mentioned...

Henry Cho. He was a Korean dude that grew up in Knoxville, TN. Has some great stories and actually very clean.

Ralphie May can be hilarious. He says so much screwed up stuff that only a guy as far as him can get away with.

Eddie Murphy Delirious
This. That stand up was beyond funny. Also Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx had some killer stuff. I also loved Mitch Hedburg and George Carlin. Sam Kinison was damn funny. Hard to believe that Kinison was a preacher and his family was made of preachers. Also Greg Giraldo used to kill it on those Celebrity Roasts.

Standup comedy is one of my favorite genres. But it usually depends on what you like to most people. For instance, if you enjoy Dane Cook regularly, stop reading here. Here's a list of some of my favorites:

Kings of comedy... Honestly, one of my top five "movies" regardless of genre. This includes Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, Bernie Mac, and DL Hughley. They are all also great individually but this complete set was a masterpiece.

Kevin Hart... Prob the hottest guy out there right now. Saw him at LJ and almost split a gut.

Jamie Foxx... I may need security. His others aren't on this level, but this one has stood the test of time for me and the wifey.

Patrice oneal... My favorite. YouTube has his skit from Def Jam that, while vulgar, is a foolproof test of someone's sense of humor.

Chris Rock... All are funny but the older stuff is best.

Kat Williams... Almost forgot him. Funny little dude.

Eddie Murphy... Before he sold out, he was probably the funniest man in America.

Richard Prior... The godfather.

Bill burr... Funniest white man in America. No racist.

Aziz... Funniest brown man from SC in America. Some racist.

Bill Cosby had a good couple of features that are still around.

Red Fox was hilarious but hard to find his stuff.

Nick Swardson... Somebody farted (or something like that). Hilarious!

Daniel Tosh... Very funny dude. Have to pay attention hard and have a sick sense of humor at times.

Bruce Bruce... Another favorite. Keeps it relatively clean compared to some others.

J Anthony Brown... Funny as hell but cusses a lot. A lot.

Robin Harris... One not many people know of but the piccolo player skit is hilarious. Many others. Also cusses a lot.

Jim Gaffigan... Very funny white guy. Can get corny at times, but a riot at others.

Last but not least, Louis CK... Just a hilarious dude. Morbid at times lol but hilarious. 2nd funniest white guy iyam.

I'm sure I forgot a few, but these are most of "my guys". I went and saw Amy Shumer in Greenville. She sucks. So, no girls make the list. Sorry @amynhop .
