I just feel sorry for ole Slick Willy having to put up with Hillary...you know he's got to despise her at this point. How could he not?? She keeps bringing shvt up & he ends up getting drug thru the mud b/c of it... Probably just wishes she would shut the eff up & move on...just what i think...

-Disagrees with you, and suggests that you're an idiot for feeling the way you do.
-Agrees with you and quotes the original reply, suggesting that they are, in fact, the idiot.
-Posts meme containing a vague generalization that kind of agrees with your point but is really just to get likes.
-Makes random joke about candidate's sexual predisposition.
-Quotes above post and turns it into a joke about your sexual predisposition.
-Suggests that we should all just try getting along for once. I mean, has anyone thought of that?
-Posts gif of Trump getting attacked by a Bald Eagle.

There, am I doing these threads right?

Was president 17 years ago.

Can't recall. Did people still complain about LBJ when Reagan was president?

Yes. As they should because we're still paying for LBJ's policies. But, LBJ was 8 years dead when Reagan took the oath of office.

LBJ was the President that really kicked off the general public’s distrust and disdain for our government officials.
Makes sense. I was a kid then and don't remember hearing a ton about it.

People should probs still be complaining about Reagan's policies. Mass incarceration, mandatory minimums, doing little to nothing to halt the crack and HIV epidemics, and perpetuating the myth of trickle-down economics. A massively overrated and detrimental presidency.

I was answering a question from another poster. Stop making it something else.

Reagan won the Cold War without firing a shot. He also rescued the economy from Carter's stagflation. I am over 50 and he is by far the best president of my lifetime.

Vietnam Nam veterans, yes they did. Vietnam Nam war protesters, yes they did. People who hated Richard Nixon, yes they did. Not to mention the conspiracy nuts that thought he was behind the Kennedy assasination. LBJ got blamed for a LOT. Some deserved, some not. LBJ was only 12 years removed from being the president when Reagan was elected, it has been 17 years since Clinton ran things.

Actually, Richard Milhouse Nixon comes to mind. Listening to the tapes gave amazing insight into the moral level of the Oval Office. The public had never heard inside conversations before. It convinced everyone that his public statements were willful lies. It was many years after then that LBJ’s tapes were released. To a degree, every presidential scandal since is played out with Watergate as a backdrop

Where did this come from? Bill Clinton doesn’t care. He is always spotted in box seats at amazing sporting events. Bill is just trying to bang interns and do his thing. Those are all Hillary’s problems, not his.
I agree but it's like she's always looking for ways to ruin his mojo...

Best of my lifetime. Best 8 years of business I have ever experienced. Not even close. Was an eternal optimists and new how to deal with both parties effectively.

Thanks for the background Bill. Hope you’re doing well.

He fixed the atrocity that was a 70% top tax rate. Can you imagine how un-American it is to take such a high percentage of someone's hard-earned income?

Reagan was the best president of my lifetime and trickle down economics most certainly do work.

some reading you might wanna do.

from the balance:

During the Reagan Administration, it seemed like trickle-down economics worked. His policies, known as Reaganomics, helped end the 1980 recession.

Reagan cut taxes significantly. The top tax rate fell from 70 percent (for those earning $108,000+) to 28 percent (for anyone with an income of $18,500 or more). Reagan also cut the corporate tax rate from 46-40 percent.

Trickle-down economics was not the only reason for the recovery, though. Reagan also increased government spending by 2.5 percent a year.

That almost tripled the federal debt. It grew from $997 billion in 1981 to $2.85 trillion in 1989. Most of the new spending went to defense. It supported Reagan's successful efforts to end the Cold War and bring down the Soviet Union. Trickle-down economics, in its pure form, was never tested. It's just as likely that massive government spending ended the recession. (Source: William A. Niskanen, "Reaganomics," Library of Economics and Liberty.)

and then there's the recent example of kansas' disastrous attempt at trickle down economics.

The Republican Legislature and much of Kansas has finally turned on Gov. Sam Brownback in his disastrous five-year experiment to prove the Republicans’ “trickle down” fantasy can work in real life — that huge tax cuts magically result in economic growth and more, not less, revenue. Kansas has painfully found otherwise: State revenues dwindled along with job growth. Budget deficits ballooned. Education funding plummeted, and the state suffered multiple credit downgrades as Mr. Brownback played the mad doctor of supply-side economics.

explain which of LBJ's policies we're still paying for then.

i was merely extending upon your thought, but with a different example.

While I don't dislike Reagan per se, crack was a problem for people with brown skin. And as everyone knew in the 80s... "Aids from God you fagggots!" So who really cared? Certainly not Reagan or his supporters.

But he broke the Soviet Union and for some reason Gorbachev LOVED him(Homo for sure... Kinda like Trump and Putin... only reversed.) and let him do pretty much whatever he wanted at the bargaining table. He also knew how to get stuff done by compromising with the other party... a skill that has been lost.
