Took over the Friday Jazz downtown just now. $hit going down and getting out of control.
Some pretty racially motivated folks leading this, get your firearms ready folks. You gonna need it.
Nice...yea, the mob shoved the only Cop on the corner of Main/North ave out of the way -who said they can't go into the event protesting.
They stated to raise your fists and fight back. The crowd attending the Jazz event started booing the protestors. Finally, the event crew finally unplugged the Mic so they left the stage.
Really just one or two of the protestors who are being forceful and pretty extreme.
The main guy started bashing the Church - Redemption World outreach in Gvl for some reason and then power was cut.
Oh well, back to the entertainment.
I wish BLM would protest more like MLK preferred. Good cause, but appear to be too aggressive for my tastes.
Good cause? Have you actually researched what they protest? These people use fear and intimidation to what is basically a shakedown. They are no better than the KKK in Mississippi 50 years ago.
I think he's saying he understands the BLM movement but not the aggression/intimidation involved. Read a little harder - he says he prefers MLK's movement because it was peaceful for the most part.Good cause? Have you actually researched what they protest? Were you around to see some of those MLK marches, calm on the front end but they torn up some stores and towns on the back end.
The cause is good, the way they go about it is questionable.
The cause was good when it first started. After it attracted people with bad intentions who openly incite riots and encourage putting "pigs in a blanket" it became a hate group no better than the KKK back in the 1950's.
If they want to promote real change they need to become better organized, distance/disavow those who are not peaceful and have a standardized agenda that people can embrace.
Showing up and being disruptive/intimidating and shooting cops is only going to cause a deadly race war eventually.

The cause is still good, the methods aren't. Come on ya'll, I think this board is smart, ya'll have to get the difference between the two?
What is the cause?
If it is to promote social equality, then yes, it is a good cause. If it is to denounce police brutality towards blacks, then yes, it is a good cause.
Not condoning any violence and truly believe All Lives Matter. Im saddened by ALL the events of this week. With that said, the above is a nominee for the dumbest post I've read all week.
Thought it was a peace rally. Has something happened to make such radical comments? Let's just hope any radicals from either side will stay at home. It's comments like this that can be mistaken and negatively insightful. We all need to learn to be patient and understandin of each other.
Without even knowing it you just offended every BLM advocate and would be branded as ignorant and insensitive.
You would also more than likely get beaten if you were at a BLM rally and held up a sign that read "All Lives Matter".
I know the running joke is "thanks Obama" but this is where it means something. He and his radical ilk have emboldened these people to behave this way. Saul Alinsky 101.
Comparing the BLM movement to the KKK is ignorant and insensitive.

OK, you got him on the lynching part, but the rest of what you described fits BLM just as well as it would the KKK.Wow. Comparing lynching and systemic racism and segregation to a bunch of poorly organized teens and 30 somethings who are loud and obnoxious--even to Bernie Sanders. This thread delivers.

Yeah, cause they lynch ppl, hang them, and burn crosses in their yards....for sure the equivalent. I LOL bc you did not pay close attention at all to the history of the civil rights movement.....well, maybe the Mississippi "Whitewashed" version....too funny!
