I have gotten a lot of great reading suggestions from this site for the last couple years. Unbreakable, Most Animal of All , Night Film are titles I got from here that here that I wouldn't have discovered otherwise.
So I was hoping to contribute by suggesting a book called The Martian... it's not exactly what it sounds like. If I had to compare it it's like the movie Gravity , Apollo 13 & Cast Away combined. It's told from the perspective of a astronaut botanist who was thought to be dead & left behind on Mars. The cool part of the book is how he lays out his problem breaks them down mathematically & comes up with
solutions using his problem solving skills & ingenuity. I am sure Igaachoochoo will hate it because he knows that NASA people are morons. But the author explains his dilemmas scientifically but in an easily understandable way. He's does so with a self deprecating & sardonic wit the whole time. I am sure it's not for every one but I think a lot would really enjoy it.
