My wife and I have been narrowing down our list for a little fall long weekend getaway and we've narrowed it down to DC and Boston. We're trying to do this on a bit of a budget so I've checked out flights and have a place lined up in each city for us to stay (Boston: North End, DC: Capitol Hill). It cost about $100 more to get and stay in Boston but it is a city my wife and I have never been to. We've both been to DC but it 10+ years ago when we were both in middle school.
I know there are some TI travelers out there. What are you guys thoughts on Boston vs DC? This will be in the middle of September but that doesn't change too much. The trip will be 4-5 days. I know there's plenty to do in DC for 5 days but I'm not familiar with what all there is to do in Boston. Any thoughts? I also know there's plenty of FREE things to do in DC but unsure of how much FREE things there are to do in Boston.
