I'm afraid the inevitable is becoming inevitable. My daughter has been riding for 3 years (she's 13), has gotten quite good and dear old dad is the one standing in the way of the next step. She's riding in competitions, doing well on rental horses, and it's more than a passing fad.

I want to make sure she's REALLY sure she loves this stuff before I make a 20 year commitment to an animal I will never ride or do much more than write checks for. She's doing Western Pleasure and I think I'd like her to take a couple of lessons of English too. Maybe do some trail rides around here, etc. What else should I ask her to do before she really KNOWS this is the thing for her.

Any help out there?
