OT: Cabo VS Puerto Vallarta

I have to choose between the two for a 1 week vacation this coming summer. All suggestions and advice welcomed.

I plan to fish 1 or 2 days but the rest is just relaxation with the wife.

Cabo and it's not because I lived there for 17 years. PV is great and has a great restaurant scene but the beaches are shit compared to Cabo as well as the fishing. Plus PV is 10 times as big as Cabo and not as quaint.

Not in the tourist areas, probably the barrio's and I hope OP isn't looking to vacay in the Congrejo's neighborhood.

Chicago's got a bigger problem than Cabo and if anyone (tourist especially) is worried about cartel activity, don't buy,sell or do drugs in Mexico.....problem solved.
