Where do people on this board in the Charlotte area play? I have been playing at Charlotte National and Ballantyne Resort early on the weekend for the most part this season, but due to green renovations/, etc. am looking for a couple of places to play.

@Ron Munson is a regular at Top Golf and I get drunk text from him at times when he’s there. Maybe you two can do a Top Golf session

Haha! I’ve played Rain Tree a few times and I enjoyed it. My buddy just switched from there to another club but I can’t remember th name

Providence C.C. Is nice

Public golf in Charlotte sucks. Which is unfortunate because the country clubs are for the most part very pricey/have waiting lists.

That said, some PUBLIC courses that come to mind in the Charlotte area other than Ballantyne Resort:

Verdict Ridge
Carolina Lakes
Tega Cay
Springfield
Olde Sycamore
Red Bridge
Rocky River

I am a member at Pine Lake Country Club, great layout, excellent condition and easy to walk. Not expensive either. Emerald Lake is OK, Red Bridge is very good, have not played the others on the above list in years. Providence Country Club and Piper Glen are currently shut down for renovations. Stay away from Firethorne, terrible layout.

Thank you.. I have some friends that recently played Pine Lake on a reciprocity agreement with Piper Glen and they had really good things to say.

Rocky River is north, I like but have not been there in a while. Normally great. Springfield should also be solid. It is south. Both Public.

Monroe CC used to be good. Michael Jordan lost a lot of cash there.

Love Springfield but the back nine is closed until September or so for green renovations.

Fort mill is actually in really good condition right now.

Both Monroe and Ft. Mill are great courses! Front 9 of both designed by Donald Ross.
