My 2018 silverado with 52, 000 miles started skipping (misfire) on cylinder 1... 3 days ago.
2 months out of warranty.
I changed the spark plug and verified the ignition coil on that cylinder was not the issue.
I am taking to local mechanic who is a friend of mine on Monday for him to diagnose.
From my research and what he is saying, there is a good chance this could be a collapsed DOD lifter due to AFM (turns off half of the Cylinders to improve gas mileage)
Meaning head pulled and lifters replaced at minimum.
I have had this motor in V8 mode since I bought it new in 2018 using a Range disabler to try and avoid this happening. 😕
Has anyone else had to get this repair done?
