OT: Flooring On Second Floor of New House?

Guys, need a little advice here. We are purchasing a new construction home and looking to replace all the carpet on the second floor (aprox 1200-1500sqft worth) since we have kids and a dog.

I am trying to decide between matching the Ceramic tile planks in the bathrooms and carrying those throughout the bedrooms and bonus room upstairs or going with LVP throughout those areas.

Price isn't as much of a consideration (still a factor just not #1) as durability, weight, settling of home, aesthetics, etc.

Which would you choose and why?

Are you installing it? If so I recommend hard wood tongue and groove. You can probably get oak 3 1/4 " for around 5.50 a square foot.

We ripped out the carpet upstairs in our house about a year and a half ago and replaced with engineered hardwoods. They have been nice. No scratches yet and we have dogs and cats with claws.

My downstairs has solid oak floors. They are in need of a sanding fresh coat of lacquer. Dogs and cats have them all scratched up and they are especially faded by sunlight. Leaving the house for the 2-3 days it'd be need to have someone come in and do the job would be a pain in the butt. I main just have engineer floors put on top of them at some point.

I have clear polyurethane (solvent base ) on mine . Solvent base is harder than water base or it was 10 years ago .
