Cliffs...have a 2.5 ton Lennox down and 1.5 ton up. House is 11 yrs old. Upstairs was hot af. Air was cool but not as cold as down so called an HVAC ex neighbor if he would stop by to see if needed freon. He came out and right away thought it was low b/c the line was dry (no consensation). For ref the down stairs unit line was sweating like a mofo. Anyway he put 4-5lbs of freon in and has been working like a champ since. Until today. Went upstairs after hanging by the pool all day and thermostat was reading 80. Immediately went outside and sure enough line was dry as a bone. Once again the air is cool but not cold.

Have a home warranty and a tech is scheduled for Wednesday. What are the potential causes and what should i be expecting him to do or be looking for to fix? My out of pocket is limited so the cost to repair is not critical. The freon was added just about a week or so ago so it leaked pretty quickly. Is it a coil or what may be the cause and repair? Would like to be armed with a little knowledge for when the tech comes out.

Thanks for any input.
