Really wish we had this over again. We made so many mistakes and caused so many excessive deaths by our reaction. Of course, having actual real information would have helped. It's pretty rich the NYT is publishing this now after the damage has been done after all their alarmism and misrepresentation throughout the pandemic.

The same people who directly supported and "caused" much of the issues we are having in the country right now will double/triple/quadruple down and come call you a right wing, hateful, bigot kook.

At this point, for me, this isn't about partisan politics anymore. It's about us as a country pulling together and getting out of this funk we've fallen into. When I am out on a daily basis, most people I meet are very nice folks. We can live together and work together and make this a better place to live for everyone. For that to happen though, we ALL have to drop our partisan lenses and see all people have tremendous sacred worth and they don't need to be subjected to all this power politics that have been going on for far too long. We've made a lot of mistakes and we need to start rectifying them and forging a better path forward for all Americans.

Totally agree, but that is not what I see on the internet.

We all need to retrench from the hatred and start to figure out what the future looks like. How do we come together and fix a lot of the ails. Admit mistakes and missteps and move on.

I just don't see it happening at the rate it should...

I just read the article l, but I don’t see anywhere in there where the claim in your subject is supported. Did I miss it?

I think an interesting theme from the study is that the demographics affected were exactly the adults with the lowest impact from actual COVID (25-44).

COVID basically hurt the fats and olds while the mental health and substance abuse impacts from shutdowns hurt younger adults and children. Just an observation.
