I played in the US Open qualifier today at Chateau Élan Legends Club. I played with a 16 year old named Spencer Ralston. He is going to play at UGA in two years. He shot 67 and it easily could have been 63 or 64. He was -6 through 10, and his only bogey was a three putt when he got caught speeding on a 20 footer on our 15th hole. His game was absolutely filthy. I cannot believe how good junior golfers have become. I am a 31 year old club pro, and assistant college golf coach, so I am around junior golf a ton, and it continues to amaze me how good these kids are becoming. Side note I was -2 through 10 and had a shot to advance and then decided to puke down the stretch and shoot 73. Haven't checked yet, but I believe this kid won the qualifier against a ton of mini tour players and he most definitely took me to the woodshed.
