I am currently deployed and have a soldier that just found out that his wife has been in long distance relationship with another guy, whom I will call "Jody". She convince the soldier that she was moving to Alaska with their kids to be closer to her father for "support" during his deployment. This morning he found out that she and "Jody" are discussing moving in together and are trying to establish residency in Alaska to make it more difficult for him to get try and get his kids back to NC. Needless to say he never saw this coming and has been blindsided by this and her actions. Fortunately, we have a great group of soldiers that have already "circled the wagons" and started to get the ball rolling so she does not wipe the accounts and leave him high and dry. Sadly, this is not my first rodeo with this kind of situtation and probably will not be the last before this tour ends. But, not being able to fix the pain and hurt that he is going through is probably the toughest thing to go deal with for his "Army family".
If you get a chance today just offer a prayer, postive thought, good karma, whatever that you believe in for Jason. He his a damn good soldier and well thought of in the Battalion and frankly did not deserve this in his life. At least not in this manner, divorce happens, but it is a selfish way to do this to a person and a shield brother when your deployed. Because not only does it effect them, but it affects the entire unit and the focus in some way shape or form. I will get off my soapbox now.
