OT...Prayers for Afghanistan....

This was bound to happen. It was time to get out. Trump paved the way and Biden closed the game. I agree with both of them. With that said, I will join you in those prayers.

The women and children won't be spared. Not Taliban MO. This didn't have to happen.
I love you brother but from someone who’s been there (more than once), at some point, you gotta want it too.

Two decades of training, dumping billions in a never ending war, only for the afghan army to surrender in weeks, is exactly what I expected.

It’s really really complex. This was inevitable.
300,000 men in the Afghani National Army knew this would be the outcome and laid down their weapons and surrendered to the Taliban with nearly zero resistance

The Afghan army has a culture of child rape. The taliban execute the child rapists. Women who are fleeing are unable to get help bc VOLUNTEERS who are there to help them won’t speak the women without their husbands present….and the husbands are back in the village trying to take care of stuff

Sad. Between this shit and the Soviet invasion in 1979 (hard to believe it's been that long) those people have endured too much.
That’s an element of why their army doesn’t want to fight as well.

Are the rumors of them bringing boys on base at night true?

Also, a lot of the army hasn’t seen a paycheck in months.

national news had a guy on who's son died over there fighting in 2008 that said he feels his son died for no reason now..really sad stuff...the exit was always going to be difficult but we didnt do it well

The exit is a huge fail. We calculated that we’d have months to get the Afghans that helped us out of there and instead we didn’t even have a week.

Should have declared Kabul a “new country” and pledged to protect it so that people that hate sharia law have a place to go. That would be the best worst option IMO.

I know bro...but rather than Baltimore Colts in the middle of the night, own the departure also. The BBC has an entirely different angle...which I trust. Reminds me of that fvcking Nam debacle...and God Bless you guys that served your country and then came home to more distorted bullshit.
