I did some grading on a lot which left behind some good ole South Carolina red clay (we used the existing topsoil elsewhere)
I've got access to some reasonably priced top soil and want to spread out about 2"-3" worth over the red clay and seed in fescue in about two weeks.
My question is this : Should I till up the existing clay BEFORE and AFTER spreading topsoil? I'm a little worried the top soil could just wash away over time if it's just laying there on top of the clay. Thanks in advance.
