OT Substituting Meals for Cash in Food Stamp Program

After years of wondering how we fix the Food Stamp program I am hearing a solution may be on the horizon

Suggestions are that instead of the vouchers that in many cases are converted to cash by fraud that

All food stamp beneficiaries will receive a choice of military MRE for the family or a shipment of food weekly from like Blue Apron style company

What say YE Ideas and mockery welcomed

And that is one of the big things wrong with Washington....lobbyist.

I have always felt that there should be special grocery stores, kinda like Aldi does with no name products at really low prices, for people on government assistance.

And then if you are drawing welfare you should either have a paint brush painting something in public, or a pair of scissors cutting grass in the median of the interstates. And no, this isn't racist, that is for anyone.

Actually not a bad idea ! Probably produces a good diet. Also many recepiants may not live in decent proximity to conventional grocery stores . Home delivery really might be a good idea , particularly if the real notion of food stamps is to help provide food . Almost seems obvious !

Thanks for saying it sounds like a good idea because based on research it appears to be an excellent idea
And to be fair I don’t think I am first on this one

This has been kicked around but many lobbyists do not like it because it moves power away from them and solves many problems

Set this up on Amazon and I can guarantee you that it would work and work great

Wal Mart is the most subsidized business there is. Doubt they'd even survive without it, at least, not in their current form.

Also, this is a costly way of dealing with that situation. Are you saying the new system will eliminate scamming all together? What will the ROI be on such a thing.


Audit the medicare and medicaid billers. Audit the military spending, if you are a true conservative worried about spending.
