I am very poor at posting a bunch of links but I am an old oak tree who has seen many a business cycle so I remember the saying back in the day saying when EF Hutton speaks people listen

Today everybody is an expert so nobody listens

That said if you want to get a perspective that is worth considering look back on the 1970’s and the crisis with Jimmy Carter, the oil crisis, interest rates hitting 22% , housing booming then crashing, wars, Iranian terror

Dam almost sounds like today

well when we forget or ignore history and lessons learned we are going to repeat the mistakes

We are heading for a recession maybe depression of the likes we have not seen since 1929

WW2 was an outcome of that mess

there is a chance to get the train back on the tracks

doubt it happens so will enjoy watching Clemson play sports and reminisce about the good old days

Actually am liking the seeming progress of the basketball program

I know it is year 12 but I am a patient guy without lots of time to wait but I would rather just go with the flow

keep more assets in cash or liquid folks

"Why is everything so political? I swear, it seems everything is so political these days".

-The Modern American

Just remember , they told us that 81 million people voted for this. You guys still believe that? We're only 14 months in. Elections have consequences. Stolen elections have catastrophic consequences.

Went from pre Covid to having a roaring 20s economy, secure border, peace in the Middle East and no major wars.

At least we have no mean tweets as the world laughs at American democrats
In some ways, the liberal media was right…a lot of world leaders didn’t like Trump but they respected him…due to his strong leadership, they had no choice…
On the other hand, most world leaders love Joe Biden but only bc he’s weak as water & they know they can do pretty much anything they want with him in office…

OP Is the old man who probably has some wisdom, but also an extremely negative outlook on everything no matter what.

2008 does not equal 2022. Many things that are different that have been posted time and time again.

I hope this guy does not have any grandkids because I can’t imagine spewing this kind of bullshit right into their heads.

Bought my first home in January 1978 and friends thought I was crazy for buying and the interest was 8.75% with owner financing.
Early 80’s these same friends scrambling to get 15-16% interest….
Parents sold some real estate and got CD’s at 18 % and scared to lock in for over 12-18 months as it “might go on up”. Their feeling were hurt renewing them at 12-13%. Would love to be liquid and see some high interest at my age today

Are you hallucinating? LMAO

They hated him but they were afraid of him because he's batshit crazy - being wary and cautious does not mean the same thing as respect.

I trust you and your sources 🤣

You should totally listen to the rational thought from these message board weirdos who absolutely hate Trump with everything they have.

You can hate the guy all you want. I have no issue with that, but if you think we’re heading in the right direction and think we have great leadership, just go ahead and stop talking.

Nobody honestly believes that.

I think this excerpt from the Bulwark - a conservative publication - sums it up nicely

"Joe Biden is not a very good president. His communication skills are subpar, e.g. when he found himself praising the “Iranian” instead of the Ukrainian people in his State of the Union speech. His political judgments are sometimes poor, e.g. devoting most of his first year to assuaging the demands of the progressive wing of his party. His stubbornness can be destructive, e.g. his decision to withdraw precipitously from Afghanistan. And his priorities are often wrong, e.g. focusing on voting rights legislation that addressed small problems like the number of days of early voting and dropboxes at the expense of the urgent need to reform the Electoral Count Act.

And yet, I thank God every day that Biden is president. The Russian offensive against Ukraine is the first crisis of his presidency (other than COVID, which was ongoing when he assumed office) and in this emergency he has redeemed the hopes of those who voted for competence. The administration’s warnings to Moscow were unambiguous without being hysterical. Our revelations of intelligence unmasking Russian disinformation and false flag narratives were on the nose. Biden’s coordination with European allies was neither bullying nor “leading from behind,” but a skillful presentation of unity (special kudos to Secretary of State Antony Blinken). Biden’s muscular reaffirmation of the U.S. commitment to NATO was crucial not just for Europe but for the world. China is taking notes on how the globe is responding to Putin and perhaps thinking twice about trying to conquer Taiwan.

By proclaiming American solidarity with Ukraine and our democratic allies around the world, Biden has restored our equilibrium. If Ronald Reagan were still alive, he’d find little to criticize in the administration’s" approach.

Yeah remembering the Carter years, I didn’t have much money and when had to borrow the interest rates were so high. Now i have a little money saved and I haven’t had to borrow. For me it is not as impactful as the Carter years but for those that are being blindsided by inflation it is bad.

Thought interest rates hit 26% percent but I agree. $hit times for sure now and not getting any better until the Socialist leaders are voted out.

LOL if you think this Administration has done about anything right.

LOL, they've done plenty right unless you're locked into the right wing echo chamber that is on a mission to destroy him. I'm a middle of the road kind of guy and I'll admit he's fvcked up a few things and he's a bad orator but he hasn't been nearly as terrible as the angry white males on the right make him out to be. You think Trump would have gotten an infrastructure bill passed? There are other good things as well but that was monumental.

Biden Derangement Syndrome.
Unbelievable to think our country is better off now. Even before the Russian invasion. Truly remarkable. Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Easy to believe. We now have a President who doesn't have contempt for 55% of the population and doesn't spend his days on twitter lambasting his make believe enemies. Also a President that gets shit done and you don't have to fellate him to stay in his good graces. I could go on but we know it's just noise to you.

If you mean getting shit done by opening the border, inflation, and the world seeing a weak leader of the free World yes I agree. Glad to agree with you for a change. By the way I dislike most politicians I just look at the policies they make and the majority from both side are asinine.

The US President does not influence business cycles, that operate, well in a cycle. Inflation goes in cycles, too, and so does housing. The cycles are dictated by the 100's of millions of decisions each day by 100's of millions of people. Nor does the US President sway the thoughts and actions of crazed dictators/terrorists.

Everyone who thinks Trump is responsible for every little thing in this part of my yard or Biden is responsible for everything in the other part of my yard, doesn't get what a large machine the US gov't is or how encompassing geopolitical actions in the global scene playout. However, I bet you watch some cable news network all day long and you have been sensationalized to the celebrity of the office of the presidency.

Quit giving the president credit for every single thing that happens and turn off your damn tv for a minute. Geez, you people worry me.

100% spot on

Fox News=democrats are devils
CNN=pubs are devils

It’s all somewhere in between. I can’t watch either network.

I respectfully disagree with you

Putin and Xi both think Joe has America in the path they wanted

Joe is living the Russian and Chinese dream

I am looking forward to riding stagecoaches and horses in the new world order China and Russia have Biden being lead through the nose ring

85 Million Chinese and Russians voted for Biden so they must be right

I think the part about a President has no impact is really weird

Of course decisions coming down from the office of the President do impact life

Joe is just manikin with the voices behind the curtain doing the talking

Let’s stop pretending. Biden is truly the worst President since Carter, and it’s a landslide.
