As you noted, the USSR was not one of our enemies during WWII (at least at the end).
As for the others, Nazi Germany was primarily facist. Also here's Nazism. I'll concede they've got some Socialist flare but not enough to call them a socialist economy.
Italy was famously facist.
Japan had very little socialism in their government.
Point being, the Greatest Generation didn't really stop the spread of Communism or Socialism through their efforts in WWII. You can make some argument that that occured during the Cold War but you didn't mention that and the Cold War had an awful lot of Baby Boomers involved.
You seem to be a little more knowledgeable in this arena. I knew Russia was our ally until the end of the war. We didn't trust then, evolved into a old War.

No way an 11 ton bomb creates a 1000 ft crater. Our largest nuke test ever created a 2000 ft crater (74 feet deep). That was 15 megatons (15 million metric tons). The MOAB would take out Times Square. Probably leaves a 75-100 foot crater depending on the type of ground it explodes over.

I don't think anyone is scared of North Korea. Billy, GW, and Barry all laughed at them. Every time they have a missle test, it fails. The whole world is laughing at them. They aren't like Iran or Russia.
Now if they ever can successfully launch a missle then that is another story, because I do believe they would be dumb enough to do it...and assuming China or Russia doesn't back them, North Korea would cease to exist.

It was reported a few days ago that China was moving significant number of troops to the north korea border. China's troop movement is what prevented us from crossing the 38th parallel during the korean war.
We can only hope that Trump's meeting with China at his country club went really, really well, or he may be taking us into WW3. And I pray that when Trump tweets threats out to North Korea, that he really knows what the f&ck he is doing, and is not treating a nuclear power like he treats Arnold Swarzenegger.
If China allies with North Korea, then yes you are right, it is the Korean War all over...and disaster for everyone. North Korea is a joke on their own though.
Everyone should be hoping this gets resolved, otherwise the shit could hit the fan in a couple of weeks.
That's an opinion piece. Not saying that it's accurate or inaccurate, but the author works for Pacific Research Institute, which is a free market think tank. She definitely has a philosophy she is trying to push.
