I've got a high deck, about 10', that my dogs stay under quite a bit. The problem is that nothing grows and they get filthy. Not really looking to spend a fortune for turf. Thought about mulch or cedar chips but they'd dig through that... anyone have any clever, cheap fix for this?

Gravel of some sort should do the trick get 3-4 yards delivered from a local landscape supply co.

Cheap is relative. What about pouring concrete?

I would do the red brick pavers, 1x1. About 1.50 per square foot fm Lowes or HD.

Gravel or if you can spend a bit more, pavers. Pavers will make the space usable for you too.

Damn. That is some hard shit for the dogs to lay on. They stay under the deck because it is cool. They dig because it is even cooler. How about closing it in like a flower bed and filling it with some recycled rubber mulch or something.

small p gravel or or the smallest you can find would not be hard and would keep cool for the dogs- pavers and poured concrete also good options but much more $$
