My son is playing in a YMCA basketball league where they don't keep score and everyone gets to play, blah, blah, blah that my wife signed him up for. This was done against my wishes as I think these "leagues" have led to the pussification of America, and teenage/young adult males specifically. Fortunately, for my son, he missed the age cut-off by about a week, so he's probably the oldest kid in the league. He's definitely the most athletic and biggest by far.

Any who, last night they had a scrimmage, that my wife dragged me to, so we could show "support." As expected, my kid goes off. About halfway through the first half, I notice the kid that is guarding him starts telling my son, "good shot" after every 3 that my son buried in his face. I'm thinking to myself that the kid needs to kill that sportsmanship crap and play a little defense against my son. Being of my loins, my son did too. After a couple times, my kid starts mocking the other kid. Every time he says good shot, my kid imitates him with a "dunnhhh....good shot" and imitates the goofy way the kid ran.

At the half, I'm fully expecting to have to fight the other kid's dad or the other team's coach. Luckily neither happened, but the kid's mom comes down and complains to this jock-sniffing referee they've hired. This guy was such a goober. Although he did have a striped shirt, he was wearing shorts instead of a traditional ref's uniform of long pants. Just bush league. Anyway, I figure out what's going on and head down court-side to check it out. The ref tells me and our coach that my kid can't mock the other one or he's gonna give a double tech and kick him out of the game. I tell him I want to see where it says that in the rule book. About this time, the mom chimes in with the, "they're just kids" argument. To which I respond with a "lady, mind your own gd business." I was then asked to leave by the ref who, to my surprise, is a local youth minister.

Now that I've had a day to cool down and think about it, I had my banker place a "red flag" on the mom's credit report. I'm also thinking about filing a restraining order against her for harassing my kid. Anybody had any experiences with getting a restraining order? I'm just trying to look out for my son. TIA

Bro your like the intense cowboy RB dad from the little giants. You probably deserved an ass whipping. You have to act accordingly. It's YMCA. It's not a ultra competitive type situation or event. Even if it sounds like it was poorly handled by both your son and yourself. Seriously as good as he might be, he certainly isn't acting humble and half his high school great or not will hate him later. He can be good or great and not be a dick. Ask Spiller. Ask Watson. Etc

Have you thought about burning their family's house down? You should probably think about burning their family's house down.

I hope you aren't serious. If so, you might just be the biggest jerk in the world. I mean, who mocks someone for giving them a compliment? Actually, your son might equal you in being a jerk. Good luck with him as he gets to be a teenager. You and society will need it.

You nailed it man. You and your beliefs are what matter and are what are right. Have your ethical bank friend setup an off shore account for that butch and start funneling bank funds into it. She deserves federal prison time for this crap she tried to pull on your kid.

Blame the other kid's mother for having her un-athletic kid play basketball instead of joining the cub scouts (where he obviously belongs). Send her a hand written note and a USB drive that includes a video of your son and you laughing at their family.

Make sure you say "no offense" at the end so they can't press charges.

If serious OP, you are the guy at my Son's games that I hope gets his ass kicked by the OTHER dickhead Dad at the game. And ..... if your kid is so GD good why don't you play him up? Based on your story your kid could use a little class as well.

Boys, hes got to be kidding cause there is no banker in hell that would do that. If it did happen and she ever finds out what was done you wont have 2 pennies to rub together. You banker on the other hand will fair much worse than you.

Quite disappointed in some people ITT. Slightly above average story, but probably could have added some key details to really make it a grand slam.

I'll just sit back and monitor.

This. I'm surprised by how many people continue to fall for OP's nonsense posts like this. My favorite one was about running over a dog and beating it to death with a shovel or something like that.

Good point. And asking temporary restraint order the judge would crack up

C/P/L got to be rolling on the floor at this thread. You cant make this shit up....well actually you can.

I'll be the first to say that I hate the whole "everyone plays, the score doesn't matter thing" but...not sure I ever mocked a guy on the court for telling me "nice shot". When I played ball in high school that was pretty common...and that was mid 90s. It's up to the coach to get the other kid to play some D. Not sure mocking him is the way to go. Honestly, and I don't know what age group were are talking here but I'm guessing under 10, I would've T'd you boy up. High school probably not. Those things have a way of being dealt with at that level.

Not sure I buy that your boy was raining 3s either. Kids that young who can drain it from that deep aren't playing at the Y. Most kids that young can't even get it to the rim from that range.
