You part of a clinical trial? It will be interesting to find out more about how long immunity lasts, both for natural and vaccine-induced.

Is there an antibody test that can differentiate between a prior Covid infection's antibodies and vaccination antibodies? Have a friend who has a lot of long-haul Covid-type symptoms and was very ill early on but did not get tested. Has been vaccinated (months ago), so wondering if that eliminated any chance of ever knowing if infected with Covid prior to that.

I’m ready. But I’m of the Moderna tribe, unless they let us mix and match. I have thought about lying to get a booster but not seriously.
Ideally I would be able to wait until the new “in development” Moderna booster is out that will be updated for better Delta and lambda coverage.
Not part of a trial. I'm a physician at Self Memorial in Greenwood and they've begun to offer the booster to those who are 6 months out or more from original 2 dose vaccination. The minute I heard this I went to Self's Covid vaccination drive thru and got my booster. Pfizer has already recommended a booster at 6 months though the CDC/FDA was quick to say they weren't recommending it yet. I believe that recommendation is coming soon.
I don't think anyone knows how long immunity lasts in either case. It does appear that vaccine induced immunity is more robust in most cases than natural immunity, thus the recommendation for those who have had Covid to go ahead and get vaccinated as well.
I'm down to get one but man would it be great if it also had delta/lambda

New study out today showing that Pfizer has a 42% Effectiveness rate against the virus. Moderna holding steady at 76%.
Yep just get the booster. And when more variants come (and they will) just get some more boosters. Keep your mask on though

Yep. For most of the media in the US, Trump was the boogeyman now its the unvaxed. They must be punished. Media knows how to get the masses moving. Even a host on CNN said publicly the unvaxed should not be allowed to participate in society

Honestly... it's hard to believe scientists today. They have an agenda in many instances. Fauci is a GD liar. The CDC changes policy like the wind and Bill Clinton. I only want truth to help my wife who has a bottom 10% immune system. The simple fvcking truth. It's not hard for you and I to be truthful, is it?
Sorry to hear. Only truth I can give you is we have 134 covid pts admitted to my hospital. 125 of those are not vaccinated.
We have 40 in ICU. 38 unvaccinated.
Those are facts. Interpret as you will.

Serious question. I've been vaccinated and have not had Covid. My wife had Covid in January but has not been vaccinated yet. We are trying to determine the best course of action.

We also have a lot of obese people in this country. We do nothing about it. We sell cigarettes to 18 year olds. We let people eat, smoke and drink themselves to death everyday. Here is your vaccine and your bag of bojangles and pack of menthols.

Also people that have died as a direct result of the vaccination. If you want to get the vaccine then by all means go for it. If you want to wait because you're unsure about the long-term effects then by all means wait. Should absolutely be a personal choice and nothing else

Truth and science have to be malleable. What is true today is not tomorrow. That is an integral part of scientific observation.
